MINUTES
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
JUNE 12, 1984
PAGE 4
Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that the City
Engineer be authorized to prepare plans and specifications for the 1984
sealcoating (streets west of Snelling Avenue) and to advertise for bids.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Ciernia, that Martin T.
Ammann, 1869 Moore, be appointed to the Park and Recreation Commission.
Motion carried unanimously.
Council briefly discussed a date for a public hearing on the proposed
revision of the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map. Mayor Eggert moved,
seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that Resolution 84-19 be adopted
setting the hearing for July 11, 1984 at 8:00 P.M. and authorizing
publication of the same. Motion carried unanimously.
RESOLUTION 84-19
A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON
REVISED ZONING ORDINANCE AND ZONING MAP
Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Hard, that up to $200.00
be advanced to persons attending the League of Minnesota Cities Con-
vention in Duluth. Motion carried unanimously.
Following a brief discussion, Councilmember Ciernia moved, seconded by
Mayor Eggert, that Clerk Administrator Barnes be appointed Zoning
Administrator for the City of Falcon Heights. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Eggert explained that due to the changes agreed upon by Group W Cable
and the Cable Commission, it is necessary that a formal agreement be signed,
and moved that the agreement be approved. The motion was seconded by
Councilmember Chestovich, and upon a vote being taken, carried unanimously.
Council discussed a request from the Deputies policing the City that
more "No Parking" signs be placed on Coffman Street. At the present
time, there is one sign at each end of the street and they cannot enforce
"No Parking" in the middle area of the street. They feel parking
should not be allowed on Coffman due to the fact that it is difficult
for the buses to negotiate the street. Councilmember Chestovich moved,
seconded by Councilmember Ciernia, that two more signs be placed along
Coffman Street. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Eggert explained that it has been proposed that the City retain
its present squad car when the new squad car is put into service. The
old squad car would be used for police back-up, as an unmarked police
car, or the City use. The cost of insurance would be $476.00 per year.
Following a discussion, Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember
Ciernia, that the squad car be retained for a one year trial period.
Motion carried unanimously.
Engineer Schunicht requested that Council approve the plans and specifi-
cations for the Larpenteur Avenue Watermain Improvement and that the
bid opening be set for 10:00 A.M., July 11, 1984. Mayor Eggert moved,
seconded by Councilmember Hard, that Resolution 84-20 be adopted.
Motion carried unanimously.
V V
1984 SEAL-
COATING W.
