MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 8, 1984 A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order by Mayor Eggert at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Eggert, Councilmembers Hard, Chestovich, Ciernia, and Baldwin. Also present were Clerk Administrator Barnes, Attorney Van de North and Engineer Schunicht. None . Councilmember Hard moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that the Consent Agenda be approved. Motion carried unanimously. 1. Falcon Heights Fire Report 4i1-01584 2. Planning Commission Minutes of August 6, 1984 0~ PRESENT ABSENT CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Mayor Eggert, that the Minutes of July 25, 1984 be approved with the following correction: Page 3, Paragraph 6, last sentence be corrected to read:'~ith other issues to be addressed MINUTES OF ~;fter Good Value and the homeowners make a decision on the fence and its 7/25/84 ~~osition". Councilmember Baldwin commented on the portion of the Minutes APPROVED relating to the condemnation of Falcon Service Center. He felt that in matters as major as this, the item should have been listed on the agenda rather than being addressed with Bullseye update, and requested that Council be more sensitive as to what issues are handled under agenda items. Mayor Eggert explained that all concerned parties had been informed except for Councilmember Baldwin who was out of town. Upon a vote being taken, all voted "aye" except `or Councilmember Baldwin, who abstained. Motion carried. Mayor Eggert recommended that. the conditional use request from B and J Midway Floral be deferred until the Planning Commission makes a recommend- ation on the matter. Councilmember Chestovich explained that the Planning Commission could not handle the matter at the last meeting as inadequate information was presented. Following a discussion, the Clerk Administrator was directed to draft a check-list for items necessary for conditional use and variance requests in order that the problem will not arise again. The check List will be presented to the Planning Commission and Council for approval. B & J MIDWAY FLORAL CONDI- TIONAL USE REQUEST DEFERRED Mayor Eggert presented a variance request from Sandra G. Larson, 1883 North DRIVEWAY VAR- Albert, to construct a driveway 3~ feet from the property line, and L9NCE APPROVED moved that the request be granted as recommended by the Planning Com- FOR S. CARSON, mission. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Hard and upon a vote 1883 ALBERT being taken, carried unanimously. Mayor Eggert opened the Public Hearing on the subdivision request from SUBDIVISION Janet B. Otis, 1757 Fairview, at 7:15 P.M. There being no one wishing to be JANET OTIS, heard, the hearing was closed at 7:16 P.M. Councilmember Hard moved, 1757 FAIRVIEW seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that Resolution 84-27 be approved. Motion carried unanimously.
