MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 1985 1 A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Eggert. Mayor Eggert, Councilmembers Ciernia, Chenoweth, Baldwin, and Hard. Also PRESENT present were Clerk Administrator Barnes, and Engineer Schunicht. None. ABSENT Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Ciernia, that the Consent CONSENT Agenda be approved. Motion carried unanimously. AGENDA APPROVED 1. Falcon Heights Fire Reports 461-02285 and 4~1-02385 2. Falcon Heights Ambulance Reports 4~2-06885 - ~~2-07185 3. Lauderdale Fire Reports 4~3-02085 and ~~3-2185 4. Cancel Check 417990 Issued to Marianne Kelley on 5/22/85 in the amount of $12.00 and Re-issue MUNUTES OF Councilmember Ciernia moved, seconded by Councilmember Baldwin, that 9/11/85 the Minutes of September 11, 1985 be approved as presented. Motion APPROVED carried unanimously. MINUTES OF Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Hard, that the Minutes 9/25/85 of September 16, 1985 be approved as presented. Motion carried APPROVED unanimously. Councilmember Hard moved, seconded by Councilmember Chenoweth, authorization AGREEMENT of the Mayor and Clerk Administrator to enter into an easement agreement WITH NW with Northwestern Bell at a price of $2,000.00. Motion carried unanimously. BELL-$2,000 Brian Eck, a student who is just finishing his studies at the University of Minnesota in political science and who will be returning to the University in approximately a year to earn his Masters Degree in public administration, would like to obtain experience working with City government from a practical standpoint. He proposed working in the City of Falcon Heights on a part-time basis when needed. Clerk Administrator Barnes stated that Mr. Eck could obtain a lot of practical experience because the City "wears many hats". Mayor Eggert felt the City would have to define some objectives and define also the necessity as well as what actually would be done. Councilmember Baldwin suggested the Clerk Administrator contact MACI and the League of Minnesota Cities to determine if grants would be available. Councilmember Hard suggested Mr. Eck contact the University to determine if the work done with the City could be applied toward his Master's Degree and also that Mr. Eck be reimbursed his credit costs. Councilmember Ciernia personally applauded Mr. Eck's initiative and suggested areas in which he could obtain practical BRIAN ECK, STUDENT TO WORK WITH CLERK ADMIN.
