MINUTES <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING ~ ~ (~ <br />NOVEMBER 26, 1985 <br />PAGE 4 <br />Mayor Eggert presented the 1986 policing contract with the Ramsey 1986 POLICING <br />County Sheriff's Department and expressed concern that the document CONTRACT <br />does not indicate that each shift will attempt to patrol every street APPROVED <br />and alley in the City. Since that has been the goal in the past, <br />a cover letter will accompany the Sheriff's Contract stressing that <br />fact. Mayor Eggert then moved, seconded by Councilmember Ciernia, <br />that the 1986 policing contract be approved. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Baldwin moved, seconded by Councilmember Chenoweth, that DECEMBER 5 <br />December 5, 1985 be declared Human Rights Day in Falcon Heights, and DECLARED <br />that an appropriate message be placed on the sign at the entrance to HUMAN RIGHTS <br />City Hall. Motion carried unanimously. DAY <br />Mayor Eggert commented on the new squad car, the fact that he had ~-.COUNCIL <br />compared it to the older squad, and the new one is equipped in INFORMATION <br />a manner greatly superior to the other. <br />Mayor Eggert informed that Group W is in default of the cable <br />contract due to the fact that the University of Minnesota and <br />Commonwealth Terrace are not wired for cable as yet. He expressed <br />concern that Group W had indicated they would allow Continental Cable <br />of St. Paul to wire the area, when voting is based on the number of <br />units as are franchise fees. The Cable Commission attorney is <br />preparing appropriate documents relating to the matter. <br />Councilmember Chenoweth informed that he had attended a Ramsey <br />County League meeting relating to drunken drivers which was very <br />informative. <br />Secretary Chenoweth related to Council information from the City <br />Engineer regarding recent projects as follows: there will be no <br />bus travel allowed on Coffman until the contractor repairs some <br />areas in the street, the Engineer is meeting with the contractor <br />for Tatum improvements, and they will be back-filling the holes <br />left along the curb area. <br />Council briefly discussed the problem with the Bullseye alley <br />and the fact that water/ice is standing in the alley. <br />Councilmember Chenoweth moved, seconded by Councilmember Hard, that ADJOURNMENT <br />the meeting be adjourned at 10:12 P.M.
