Mayor AGENDA CUT-OFI Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson that the Planning ONE WEEK PRIOI Commission Agenda cut-off be designated as requested. Motion carried TO MEETING unanimously. Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that the Metropolitan Transit M.T~C. TO Commission has requested approval of construction of a Passenger Waiting CONSTRUCT Shelter on the northwest corner of Larpenteur and Hamline. Councilmember BUS PASSENGER Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson that that approval be SHELTER AT granted with the stipulation that the shelter be properly maintained. HAMLINE & LARPENTEUR Clerk Administrator Barnes requested authorization to reply to_a_letter fromK & K Hardware, 1535 W. Larpenteur, presenting plans for some PROPOSED str_uct_ual changes at their place of business (which have been checked CHANGES AT by the Building Inspector and Fire Chief and the necessary requirements K & K HARDWARI stipulated). Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember APPROVED Eggert that the Clerk Administrator be authorized to draft a letter to K & K Hardware indicating Council's approval of the proposed changes. Motion .carried unanimously. Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that the City of Lauderdale LAUDERDALE had requested Rescue Service from Falcon Heights. Fire Chief Renchin, REQUEST FOR Councilmember Brown, Fire Department Liaison, and Clerk Administrator F.H. RESCUE 1 Barnes met with Mayor David Nelson of Lauderdale and the Clerk Admini- SERVICE - strator was requested to draw up a contract if Council approves. Also RESCUE FEE presented for approval was a proposed break-down~of rescue fees, as BREAK-DOWN such break-downs are required by both Medicare and Medical Assistance. APPROVED After a discussion Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Council- member F,ggert, that the Clerk Administrator be authorized to draw up a contract not to start prior to Marche 15, 1981 (as requested by Chief Renchin) and that the fee schedule be adopted as amended. Motion carried unanimously. The discussion of final;"payment of Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Assoc. BONESTR00 for the 1980 sealcoating project was deferred awaiting information PAYMENT DIS- from the engineering firm. CUSSION DEFERRED Mayor Warkentien informed Council that he had been in contact with Clint Hewitt of the University of Minnesota regarding a City Hall PROPOSED NEW site and at this time the only land the University might consider CITY HALL relinquishing is the area south of the F. H. Community Park off UPDATE Cleveland Avenue. A discussion was held regarding the problems with that site such as egress and ingress of emergency equipment. Councilmember Steele again suggested that perhaps upgrading of the present City Hall property should be considered. It was decided that g feasibility study on the upgrading of the present property should be discussed with the City Engineer at the next City Council Meeting. ~ Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele that MAYOR Mayor Warkentien be appointed to the Northwest Suburban Youth Service APPOINTED TO Bureau for the year 1981.
