MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 13, 1981 <br />PAGE 4 <br />Councilmember Larson informed that there was an 80-40 vote by the House <br />of Representatives in favor of the amended tax bill which would require <br />the City to negotiate costs with the Fair Board every two years. <br />~3 <br />AMENDED TAX <br />BILL APPROVED <br />BY HOUSE OF <br />REP. <br />It was noted that Drs. James Madison and Roger Lukermann had confirmed <br />David Pearson's ability to perform his duties as a fireman. Council- DAVID PEARS02~ <br />member Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that David Pearson APPROVID FOR <br />be approved for duty as a fireman with the usual 1 year probation. FIRE DUTY <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes brought to Council's attention the proposed <br />University Transitway and Energy Park which includes the Fairgrounds. <br />During the discussion Council questioned why Falcon Heights had not <br />been informed previously as the plan does include a part of the City. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Acting Mayor Brown, that the <br />Clerk Administrator be directed to draft a letter to Metropolitan <br />Council and inquire as to why the City was not notified and how Falcon <br />Heights might be involved.
