Upon a vote being 6/24/81 <br />taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, APPROVID <br />Brown and Larson, and the following voted "nay": None. Councilmember <br />Eggert abstained. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien presented a request from the University of Minnesota U OF MN TO <br />Wheat Breeding Project to use non-lethal bird control cartridges in the USE NON- <br />research plots located on Roselawn Avenue. Councilmember Steele moved, LETHAL <br />seconded by Councilmember Larson, that the request be granted. Motion BIRD CONTRC <br />carried unanimously. CARTRIDGES <br />Don Brown, Chairman of the Recreation Advisory Committee, was in attend- ICE CREAM <br />ance to present information on the Ice Cream Social to be held July 30, SOCIAL ON <br />1981 at the City Park, and to request Council participation. 7/30/81 <br />DON BROWN <br />Council discussed a proposed resolution which would authorize the Metro <br />Council to implement the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program in <br />Falcon Heights. Both Councilmembers Steele and Eggert stated they object- MODERATE <br />ed on the principal of the matter and did not feel that taxpayers should REHAB <br />subsidize interest rates for landlords to rehab rental units. Council- PROGRAM <br />member Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that the resolution <br />be rejected. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Council- <br />members Steele and Eggert, and the following voted "nay": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Brown and Larson. Motion failed. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, that <br />Resolution 81-8 be adopted allowing Metro Council to implement the <br />Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program in Falcon Heights. Upon a <br />vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Brown and Larson, and the following voted against the <br />same: Councilmembers Steele and Eggert.
