MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING ~~-~} <br />OCTOBER 28, 1981 <br />PAGE 4 <br />Mayor Warkentien presented a request from John Thatcher, 1347 W. REFUSE <br />Larpenteur requesting that the City place a trash container by the CONTAINER TO <br />bus stop at Larpenteur and Hamline. Council concurred that such a BE PLACED AT <br />container is needed and in view of the fact that Metro Transit will BUS STOP <br />not provide a container Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Council- HAMLINE & <br />member Steele, that the request be granted. Motion carried unani- LARPENTEUR <br />mously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested that Council consider insulating <br />and re-siding the Municipal Liquor Store before cold weather arrives. <br />During the discussion Councilmember Steele recommended that the east <br />window be replaced with a Thermopane for energy conservation, and <br />Councilmember Eggert made the recommendation that R-19 Blue Board <br />insulation be installed due to its exceptional insulating properties. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele, that <br />the Clerk Administrator be authorized to make arrangements for the <br />insulation and siding of the Liquor Store with the stipulations that <br />the insulation be Blue Board and the east window be replaced with <br />Thermopane. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that he has made <br />arrangements to install a privacy fence on the east lot line of the <br />Liquor Store and cycone fence along the south lot line by Embers. <br />Mayor Warkentien presented Resolution 81-21 designating Parcel 33-46000- <br />012-02 as non-conservation land and authorizing the Clerk Administrator <br />to make application for conveyance of said tax .forfeited- land for the <br />purpose of street right-of-way. (The land is a 1' strip at the end of <br />Lindig St. which would be useful to the City if Lindig St. is ever <br />extended.) Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, <br />that the resolution be adopted. Motion carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 81-21 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN LAND NON- <br />CONSERVATION AND MAKING APPLICATION FOR CON- <br />VEYANCE OF SAID TAX FORFEITED LAND FOR STREET <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />I <br />I <br />Council scheduled the Canvassing Board Meeting for November 4, 1981 <br />at 7:15 p.m. <br />Due to the fact that the Council meeting scheduled for November 11, <br />1981 falls on a holiday, and the November 25, 1981 meeting would <br />fall on Thanksgiving :'ve, Council discussed alternate dates. Follow- <br />ing the discussion Caunc~.'_*vember Larson moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Brown, that both of the regular meetings be cancelled and <br />special meetings be scheduied for November 4, 1981 at 7:30 p.m., <br />and November 19, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. <br />LIQUOR STORE <br />TO BE INSULATE: <br />& RE-SIDED <br />RESOLUTION <br />81-21 <br />CANVASSING <br />BOARD MEETING <br />11/4./81 <br />11/11/81 & <br />11/25/81 MEET- <br />INGS CANCELLID <br />RE-SCHEDULED <br />for 11/4/81 & <br />11/19/81 <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that ADJOURNMENT <br />the meeting be adjourned at 10:01 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
