MINUTES <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING ~.t~~ <br />DECEMBER 30, 1981 <br />A special meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order <br />at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Warkentien. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Brown and Larson. Also present were PRESENT <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes, Attorney Swanson and Engineer Lemberg. <br />Councilmember Eggert arrived later. <br />Councilmember Steele. ABSENT <br />The following new business was added to the agenda: (1) Consider NEW BUSINESS <br />dropping negotiations for the Rose Hill property and proceed with ADDED TO <br />the condemnation, (2) Consider quick take of the 60' strip of Hermes AGENDA <br />land, (3) Policing discussion, (4) Consider closing office early New <br />Years Eve day, (5) Rescue contract with Lauderdale, and (5) Letter <br />from Lauderdale regarding stop signs at Roselawn and Cleveland. <br />Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that the CONSENT AGENDA <br />Consent Agenda be approved as presented. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVED <br />1. Rescue Report 4~R-09381 <br />2. General Payroll 12/1/81 - 12/15/81 $ 5,413.51 <br />3. Liquor Payroll 12/1/81 - 12/15/81 $ 2,436.22 <br />4. General Disbursements 12/10/81 - 12/30/81 $44,840.56 <br />Sinking Fund 131.25 <br />5. Liquor Disbursements 12/81/81 - 12/28/81 $29,858.57 <br />6. Planning Commission Minutes of December 7, 1981 <br />7. Human Rights Commission Meeting of November 19, 1981 <br />8. Liquor Store Financial Report for November, 1981 <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien that the CLERK-ADM. <br />Clerk Administrator be authorized to write off the following bad AUTHORIZED TO <br />checks from the Municipal Liquor Store: (1) Jeanette R. Tate, WRITE OFF <br />$57.02, (2) Jose A. Encinas, $35.00, (3) Robert D. Mackie, $5.17, BAD CHECKS <br />(4) Elizabeth F. Fitzpatrick, $32,67, (5) Theresa A. Groschen, $9.85, FROM LIQUOR <br />and (6) Stolen Travelers Express Money Order, $245.00. Motion carried STORE <br />unanimously. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, that SALARY IN- <br />the salary for Erma Olson, Section 8 Housing Specialist, be increased CREASE FOR <br />to $7.44 per hour which is the rate of pay she receives for the same ERMA OLSON <br />work at Metro HRA. (The City is fully reimbursed for her salary by APPROVED <br />Metro HRA.) Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, that the OFFICE TO <br />City Office be closed at 12:00 noon on New Years Eve Day, December CLOSE AT NOON <br />31, 1981. Motion carried unanimously. ON 12/31/81 <br />Mayor Warkentien informed that one of the Ramsey County Deputies POLICING <br />assigned to Falcon Heights has been transferred to another community DISCUSSION <br />and that several calls have been received objecting to the transfer. <br />:Mayor Warkentien was of the opinion that the City should not interfere <br />in the assignments unless there is a serious problem with a deputy. <br />Council concurred that the City should not interfere but that the Clerk <br />Administrator should inform the Sheriff's Department that complaints <br />have been received regarding the transfer. <br />
