MINL,Tr; S <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 7, 1982 <br />A special meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to <br />order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Warkentien. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes administered the Oath of Office to Willis <br />C. A. Warkentien,re-elected Mayor of Falcon Heights. <br />Mayor Warkentien administered the Oath of Office to Rice' Chestovich <br />and Paul Ciernia, newly elected Councilmembers. <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Eggert, Larson, Ciernia and Chestovich. PRESENT <br />Also present were Clerk Administrator Barnes and Attorney Swanson. <br />None. <br />Attorney Swanson presented to Council two Purchase Agreements from <br />American Shelter Cornor_ation as follows: (1) A purchase price of <br />$230,000.00 for the. main pa r.cel of land on which to build the <br />proposed community centE:r/city hall a.nd (2) A purchase. price of <br />$30,000.00 for the adjacent stip of land to the east to be acquired <br />for street purposes. Ile. explained that these amounts are in accord- <br />ance with the last offer made by the City and corresponds with <br />the appraisal price determined for the main parcel of land. If the <br />matter :is closed by accepting the Purchase Agreements condemnation <br />proceedings will be terminated. The Attorney then read the resolutions <br />prepared for Council's consideration. <br />ABSENT <br />PURCHASE <br />AGREEMENT <br />FROM AMERICAN <br />SHELTER CORP. <br />PRESENTED <br />I_n answer to an inquiry from Counci.lmember Ciernia the Attorney replied <br />that the final balance would be due on date of closing, probably February <br />1, !982. Councilmember Ciernia inquired as to whether the City would <br />have. that amount available on February 1 anti Mayor Warkentien replied <br />in r_he affir_mat.i_ve. Clerk Administrator Barnes explained that the funds had <br />b~_~en made available by r_he balance of cash that have been retainea since <br />1.965. <br />There being no further questions Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by <br />Councilmember Eggert that Resolut_iorr 82.-1 he adopted as presented. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 82-1 RESOLUTION <br />82-1 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING EXECUTING OF A PURCHASE <br />AGREIMENT FOR ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY <br />Councilmember Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember_ Larson, that <br />Resolution 82-2 be adopted as pr.esented..
