MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 27, 1982 PAGE 3 j Clerk Administrator Barnes requested that Council consider paying the MAINTENANCE maintenance employees time and one half for overtime. Following a short EMPLOYEES TO discussion Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that RECEIVE TIME the maintenance employees be paid time and one half for overtime. Motion AND ONE HALF carried unanimously. FOR OVERTIME Clerk Administrator Barnes requested authorization to expend $6,144.00 in FIRE OFFICER Liquor Funds during the year 1982 to-pay the salaries of the Fire Depart- TO BE PAID went Officers as has been done previously. Councilmember Larson moved, FROM LIQUOR seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that the request be granted. Motion FUNDS carried unanimously. Mayor Warkentien introduced Resolution 82-8 and moved its adoption. Councilmember Larson seconded the motion-and upon a vote being taken the 8esolution was adopted unanimously. RESOLUTION 82-8 RESOLUTION 82-8 A.RESOLUTTON ON THE DEATH OF MAHT02~DI FIRE- MEN ROBERT B. HAYS AND BRUCE J. RAEBURN Mayor Warkentien presented the following appointments to the Recreation MARION HOOD Committee and requested Council's approval: Marion Hood, 1597 Holly- STEVE HARD wood Court, and Steve Hard, 1937 Autumn. Mayor Warkentien moved, APPOINTED TO seconded by Councilmember Larson, that the appointments be approved. REC. COMMITTE Motion carried unanimously. Clerk Administrator Barnes requested authorization to order a new CITY TO police car for the City and inquired whether or not Council desired PURCHASE NEW to keep the old squad car for back-up purposes. During the discussion SQUAD CAR Council determined that the old car should be sold and have the County provide a back up car as is the present practice. Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that the Clerk Administrator be authorized to purchase a police car as specified. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Warkentien informed Council that he and the Clerk Administrator PROPOSED had attended a meeting in Roseville called for the purpose of discussing RAMSEY COUNT the Hotel/Motel Tax Bill being proposed by Ramsey County. He stated HOTEL/MOTEL that those in attendance objected strongly to the bill due to the fact TAX that the bill does not stipulate the distribution of the funds, although OPPOSED the author has indicated the intent is to levy a 6% tax with 2% allocated to each of the following: Ramsey County, Suburban Communities, and the suburban Chamber of Commerce or tourist bureau. In St. Paul the proceeds will be allocated 2X to the County and 4% to St. Paul.
