MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1982 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Following a discussion Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Ciernia, that the Public Hearing be scheduled for March 10, 1982 <br />at 7:00 p.m. and that the Clerk Administrator be authorized to publish <br />the Hearing Notice. Motion carried unanimously. <br />151 <br />PUD HEARING <br />(cont.) <br />Councilmember Larson presented for Council`s approval the appointment of TIM FINNIGAN <br />Tim Robert Finnigan, 877 California, St. Paul, MN, to the Fire Depart- APPROVED AS <br />went as recommended by the Fire Department. Councilmember Larson moved, FIREFIGHTER <br />seconded by Councilmember-Eggert,-that the appointment be approved subject <br />to the physical and one year probation period. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Attorney Swanson explained that the purchase agreement on the 60' x 522' <br />strip of land belonging to the Hermes family, had previously been approved, <br />however he requested that Council approve the modifications to the agree- <br />ment which were deemed necessary. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by <br />Councilmember Eggert that modifications of the agreement made by Attorney <br />Swanson be approved. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien called to Council`s attention a Notice of Public Hearing <br />to be held by the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners for Establishment <br />of a Minnesota Metropolitan Regional Rail Authority. Council discussed <br />the matter and concurred that another governmental agency is not needed. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that the Clerk <br />Administrator be directed to write the Ramsey County Board informing that <br />body that Falcon Heights objects to the establishment of such an agency. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a thank you letter from Barb Raeburn for Resolution <br />82-8 (Concern for the Loss of Her Husband in the Stillwater fire). <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested authorization to transfer the <br />following funds to the Community Center Construction Account: $46,478.16 <br />from Sinking Account #103 (1963 Improvements), $10,632.23 from Sinking <br />Account 4107 (1967 Storm Sewer), $484,000.00 from the General Fund, and <br />$234,500.00 from the Sanitary Sewer Fund fora total of $775,610.39. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that the <br />above amounts be permanently tranferred to the Community Center <br />Construction Fund. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council inquired as to whether any negotiations were taking place for <br />sale of the present City Hall site and Glerk Administrator Barnes <br />informed that he had met with Lowell Hargens of GTA and negotiations <br />will continue. <br />Councilmember Eggert informed Council that the following Public Hear- <br />ing on Cable TV have been scheduled: Falcon Heights City Council <br />Public Hearing to be held February 24, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. (at which <br />time the public will be heard and Cable Company representatives will <br />be in attendance to ansQer questions only), North Suburban Cable <br />Commission Hearing on February 25, 1982 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rose- <br />ville City Hall for the purpose of hearing interested groups, and <br />the hearing at which the cable companies will offer their summary <br />of their :proposals: to be held March 25, 1982 at 7:00 p.m. at the <br />Parkview Middle School.
