~ -. <br />~-. t7 <br />;.4I NUTES <br />SPECIAL CITE' COUNCIL T~'~ETING <br />DECE;^a'IBER 15, 1982 <br />PAGE ~t <br />RESOLUTION 82-5~ RESOLUTION <br />82-5~ <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT OF <br />X2,160.65 TO BLACKTOP SERVICE FOR THE 1982 <br />SEALCOATING <br />Engineer Lemberg informed Council that he had met with Councilmember NORTHO1t9E <br />Chestovich and William Smith, 1358 W. Towa (who was in attendance) STOP SIGNS <br />to assess the need of stop signs in the Northome area. Items such as APPROVED <br />school bus stops, alley uses, commercial uses, vehicle rates and other <br />items were discussed. Pros and cons trrere considered for each intersect- <br />ion to arrive at reasonable recommendations to accomplish the traffic <br />control that is needed for the area but not cause hardships to the <br />residents of the area. Following a discussion regarding the suggested <br />placements, Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember <br />Ciernia, that the signs be placed as recommended by Engineer Lemberg <br />and that speed bombs be installed in the northfsouth alley between <br />Hoyt and Iowa. ~~gotion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Ciernia moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, DOUGLAS LEPdAY <br />that the appointment of Fire Fighter Douglas G. Lel~ay, 1159 Autumn, APPROVED AS <br />Roseville, ?~dN, be approved subject to the required physical and one FIREFIGHTER <br />year probation. ~~4otion carried unanimously. <br />Engineer Lemberg reviewed his recommendations for the future Snelling CITY'S RECOM- <br />Avenue upgrading. After a discussion concerning Council's desires on ~IF:NDATION ON <br />the construction, Councilmember Eggert moved, seconded by ~,~a.yor SNELLING AVE. <br />Y~`arkentien, that ~'ngineer Lemberg and Clerk Administrator Barnes be TO BE PRESENT- <br />directed t o meet with state officials to present the Counc il's ED TO STATE <br />desired recommendations. motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Ciernia moved, seconded by Mayor '+'aarkentien, that the RINK ATTEND- <br />following persons be hired for the rinks at the City park: Greg ANTS & <br />Spencer, Supervisor, <3.95 per hour, Christopher Anderson, Jeff SUPERVISOR <br />Pollard, John Jernberg and Kirk Phillips as Attendants at a rate HIRED <br />of X3.60 per hour. r~2otion carried unanimously. <br />b4ayor V'sarkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that the LIQUOR STORE <br />Liquor Store employee salaries be increased seven percent for salaried SALARY <br />employees and x.25 per hour for part-time employees. The increased INCREASES <br />salaries are as follows: Al Rolek, X17,976, John Sosniecki, X20,372, <br />Robert Anderson, 1l~,380, George Barbos X5.00 per hour, Delrose Ewan, <br />~It.50 per hour and Paul Benoit, X3.75 per hour. R!Iotion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />Councilmember Ciernia moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, to MEETING EXTE- <br />extend the meeting to 11:30 P.r~,4. Motion carried unanimously. NDED TO 11:30 <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes explained the condemnation award for the CONDEMNATION <br />City Hall property requires the City to pay an additional X70,000 UPDATE <br />above the X230,000 which was previously paid, and recommended that <br />
