MINUTES <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 5, 1983 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Sun Newspapers be designated as the Official Paper for the City of <br />Falcon Heights for the year 1983. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that the firm <br />of Briggs and Morgan be designated as the Legal Firm for the City for <br />the year 1983. iJlotion carried unanimously. <br />Council discussed the designation of an engineering firm for 1983, and <br />whether or not it was necessary to have one individual from the firm <br />assigned to Falcon Heights. Councilmember Eggert felt. that having one <br />person assigned would be in the best interest of the City while other <br />members felt it would not be necessary and that the engineer should be <br />assigned based on the type of project involved and the expertise of the <br />engineer. Council concurred that the Clerk Administrator should be <br />the primary contact Berson with the engineering firm. Councilmember <br />Ciernia moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that Bonestroo, Rosene, <br />Anderlik and Associates be designated as the Engineering Firm for the <br />City for the year 1983 with the stipulation that the Clerk Administrator <br />be the principal contact person for~the `'irm. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that <br />Jerome P. Filla be designated as the Prosecuting Attorney for the <br />year 1983. Iulotion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that <br />Ehlers and Associates be designated as the Fiscal Consultants for <br />the City for the year 1983. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor VYarkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, that Council- <br />member Larson be re-appointed Acting Mayor for the year 1983. Upon a <br />vote being taken, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor ~'Varkentien, <br />Councilmembers Ciernia, Chestovich and Eggert, and the following voted <br />against the same: None. Councilmember Larson abstained. ~dotion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes be re-appointed Civil Defense Director for the <br />year 1983. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that <br />the following appointments be made for the year 1983: <br />1. Gas Inspector - Eugene Pakoy <br />2. Building Inspector - Larry Squires <br />3. Electrical Inspector - Robert Clausen <br />!~. Plumbing Inspector - Richard Alquist <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council discussed the manner in which the 1982 Tree Inspector handled <br />the Diseased Tree Program and the fact that the City Horticulturist does HORTICULT- <br />not have time to do the work and appoints someone as his proxy. Council- URTST <br />member Eggert related his personal experience with the 1982 inspector and APPOINTMENT <br />felt the service was not the best. Council discussed the possibility of the DEFEP,RED <br />
