MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 11, 1978 ' <br />Page 2 <br />• RE: Ordinance 118- Mr. Julius Fuith appeared regarding <br />parking on front lawns. He had been called upon by the <br />Ramsey County Sheriff's Dept. and notified he was in <br />violation of Ordinance 118. Mr, Fuith checked with <br />various communities regarding their parking ordinances. <br />He stated that during the winter these communities did <br />not enforce their parking laws, as they did not want <br />on street parking. Council discussed at length our <br />ordinance, it was noted by Councilman Steele that on <br />Jan. 10, 1974 a discussion and motion was made to have <br />the City Attorney draw up an ammendment to the present <br />ordinance to permit parking from November 1 to Mar. 1 <br />and have:~ready at the next meeting. <br />Moved by Mayor Warkentien, seconded by Councilman Black <br />to authorize Attorney Kenefick to draft an amendment to <br />the Ordinance and present it at the January 25, 1978 <br />meeting. Upon a vote being taken the following voted <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough <br />Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay": None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien suggested that it be considered to <br />permit snow fence erection during the winter months. <br />. No action was taken. <br />Mr. Andrew Merry, Fiscal Agent from Juran & Moody <br />discussed proposed financing of the new fire truck <br />and handed out a breakdown of figures on a 10 and 15 <br />year financing schedule. It was determined with the <br />realized bond proceeds of $64,006 and the actual <br />purchase price that there would be an approximate <br />funding shortage of $1,876. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Steele <br />to prepare a resolution authorizing Juran & Moody to <br />negotiate a sale of bonds in the amount of $66,000 <br />payable over a ten (10) year period and payment and <br />principal beginning in 1980 in order that the City of <br />Falcon Hieghts may purchase a fir e truck as authorized <br />by public referendum. Upon a vote being taken the <br />following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers <br />Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Ms June Johnston appeared before council regarding the <br />City's two page ad spread in the phone directory put , <br />out by the Sun Newspaper. Ms Johnston presented an <br />idea of a map and pictures in addition to what we have <br />at the present time. Councilman Steele moved, seconded <br />• by Councilman Black to continue with the present two <br />page spread. Upon a vote being taken the following <br />voted"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, <br />Steele and T~rown.~_ and the following voted <br />"nay": Councilman McGough.
