MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 25, 1978 1 <br />Page 5 <br />Mayor Warkentien reported there was an error made in LIQUOR STORE <br />computing the liquor store salaries of Dec. 29, 1977. SALARY <br />Mayor Warkentien moved to recind the motion made at CORRECTIONS <br />the Dec. 29, 1977 meeting on the salaries for George <br />Willkom and John Sosniecki. .Councilman Black seconded. <br />Upon a vote .being taken the following voted "any": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele <br />and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved to set the salaries of George <br />Willkom at $16,500 and John Sosniecki at $10,704 for <br />the year 1978, Councilman Black seconded. Upon a vote <br />being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported there were going to PUBLIC <br />be public hearings coming up regarding Chemical Waste HEARING - <br />Landfill sites, the final sites being considered are: CHEMICAL <br />Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Pine Bend and Cottage Grove. WASTE LAND- <br />FILL SITE <br />Councilman McGough informed council he had attended a LIGHTED FIELD <br />meeting at the U of M regarding the proposed lighted U of M <br />recreation field at Larpenteur and Cleveland. Currently <br />they are talking about upgrading the four fields that <br />are in use during daylight hours immediatly north of <br />the gym on the campus. They propose to re-surface and <br />installlights. They have come up with a comprehensive <br />plan, by the golf course, as a proposed new site being <br />considered west of Cleveland and north of Larpenteur. <br />One member of the staff made note of the fact that the <br />lighted fields now in use are empty most of the time <br />and is opposed to more being installed. <br />Mayor Warkentien informed council he has contacted HEALTH BOARD <br />Dr. Ronald Eggert of 1868 Simpson as to whether he 8 PLANNING <br />would consider appointment to the Board of Health. COMMISSION <br />Dr. Eggert is considering the appointment at this time. <br />Mayor Warkentien also noted there was still a vacancy <br />on the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />
