MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 25, 1978 Page 4 Mayor Warkentien presented to council a bill received from the City of Roseville in the amount of $800.00 for our agreed share of Northwest Suburban Youth Service Bureau funding for the year 1978. Attorney Kenefick reported the contract is re-newable every year by action prior to June 30th. Each municipality has to agree each year to be continually bound by the Joint Powers Agree- ment. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman McGough to authorize payment to Roseville in the amount of $800.00 Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from the North Suburban Kiwanis written by Ken Nelson with an enclosed check in the amount of $300.00 for the. City of Falcon Heights park equipment. Clerk Administrator .Barnes was instructed to write a letter of thanks and inform them of our future equipment purchases. Attorney Kenefick reported he had sent a letter to Councilman Steele and Clerk Administrator Barnes on the shade tree program. Attorney Kenefick suggested that the council plan on budgeting more for the Horticulturist as his duties have been expanded beyond what he is doing at the present time. No action taken. Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from the Metro Council regarding the Metropolitan Development Guide sent to each City Manager. Clerk Administrator Barnes reported Falcon Heights had received their copy. Mayor Warkentien made note he had talked with Mayor Demos Polly Franke,., Tom Curley and Roger Short of Roseville at a luncheon meeting he had attended. Mayor Warkentien gained the impression that Roseville would not go along with the Roselawn upgrading. It was suggested by Council- man Steele to have a meeting with the Roseville Mayor and Councilmembers and review the program as a unit. Clerk Administrator Barnes was requested to draft a letter and suggest a meeting of both cities on February 7, 1978. i i. There is MEETING going to be a meeting with the League of Cities .and he plans on attend ~.:ng. Councilman McGough and Councilperson Brown were contacted JOB CORPS to serve on the committee for the Job Corps as requested COMMITTEE by Mayor Latimer of St. Paul, Mn.
