MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 25, 1978 <br />Page 4 <br />Mayor Warkentien presented to council a bill received <br />from the City of Roseville in the amount of $800.00 for <br />our agreed share of Northwest Suburban Youth Service <br />Bureau funding for the year 1978. Attorney Kenefick <br />reported the contract is re-newable every year by action <br />prior to June 30th. Each municipality has to agree each <br />year to be continually bound by the Joint Powers Agree- <br />ment. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman McGough <br />to authorize payment to Roseville in the amount of $800.00 <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown. <br />The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from the North <br />Suburban Kiwanis written by Ken Nelson with an enclosed <br />check in the amount of $300.00 for the. City of Falcon <br />Heights park equipment. Clerk Administrator .Barnes was <br />instructed to write a letter of thanks and inform them <br />of our future equipment purchases. <br />Attorney Kenefick reported he had sent a letter to <br />Councilman Steele and Clerk Administrator Barnes on the <br />shade tree program. Attorney Kenefick suggested that the <br />council plan on budgeting more for the Horticulturist as <br />his duties have been expanded beyond what he is doing at <br />the present time. No action taken. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from the Metro <br />Council regarding the Metropolitan Development Guide <br />sent to each City Manager. Clerk Administrator Barnes <br />reported Falcon Heights had received their copy. <br />Mayor Warkentien made note he had talked with Mayor Demos <br />Polly Franke,., Tom Curley and Roger Short of Roseville at <br />a luncheon meeting he had attended. Mayor Warkentien <br />gained the impression that Roseville would not go along <br />with the Roselawn upgrading. It was suggested by Council- <br />man Steele to have a meeting with the Roseville Mayor and <br />Councilmembers and review the program as a unit. Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes was requested to draft a letter and <br />suggest a meeting of both cities on February 7, 1978. <br />i i. <br />ROSEVILLE - <br />YOUTH SERVICE <br />BUREAU <br />NORTH <br />SUBURBAN <br />KIWANIS <br />SHADE TREE <br />PROGRAM <br />DEVELOPMENT <br />GUIDE <br />ROSELAWN UP- <br />GRADING <br />Councilman McGough reported on the Job Corps meeting held JOB CORPS <br />at Chelsea Heights, it was the general feeling at the CHELSEA HGTS <br />meeting that the Job Corps will go through. There is MEETING <br />going to be a meeting with the League of Cities .and he <br />plans on attend ~.:ng. <br />Councilman McGough and Councilperson Brown were contacted JOB CORPS <br />to serve on the committee for the Job Corps as requested COMMITTEE <br />by Mayor Latimer of St. Paul, Mn. <br />
