MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 2 2 , 19 7 8 ~''~ <br />Page 3 <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed council the hockey HOCKEY RINK <br />rinks were closed as of Sat. night, Feb. 18, 1978 and CLOSING <br />are now open on a volunteer basis without pay. <br />Mr. James Duffy is in charge of .Falcon Woods, Mike 8 <br />Mark Lyddy are at the Falcon Heights Elementary School, <br />Mrs. Marianne Brown is in charge of the Univ. Grove and <br />two former rink attendents will be at the Idaho-Snelling <br />rink. The city will plow, but no flooding will be done. <br />All rinks will remain open as long as weather permits. <br />Councilman McGough reported he had attended the LIGHTED FIELD <br />meeting at Coffee Hall on the campus regarding the U OF M <br />lighted ball fields that are proposed. The fields <br />will be located north of Larpenteur Avenue and west of <br />Cleveland and will share the parking with Gibbs Farm <br />Museuam. In addition, they will construct six additional <br />lighted fields in the circled area of the campus behind <br />the administration building. The four fields currently <br />in use will be re-surfaced and lighted, these are <br />located north of the gym. <br />Councilman McGough suggested that each committee KEYS FOR THE <br />chairperson receive new keys for the hall. Discussion CHAIRMEN OF <br />tabled, no action taken. COMMITTEES <br />Councilman McGough reported the discussion held by the TREE COMMITTEE <br />tree committee on February 15, 1978. Dr. French noted MEETING <br />his concern for reserving the machines needed for <br />planting as the delivery has been promised by April 1, 1978. <br />The other concern was in getting help for planting, either <br />volunteer or CETA. It was felt that with full time help <br />all trees could be planted in a weeks time. At this <br />time it is not known the total number of trees to be <br />delivered. <br />Councilman McGough suggested that the tree committee TREE COMMITTEE <br />membership be brought up to date and all areas of the MEMBERS <br />city have a representative on the committee. Council- <br />man McGough also suggested the tree committee meet <br />with the Park Development Committee and determine <br />whether they will need any trees for Falcon Woods Park. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes read a letter received DEPARTMENT OF <br />from Ramsey County Department of Taxation regarding TAXATION - <br />the installation of a computer assisted property RAMSEY COUNTY <br />apraisal system. This will be used to produce the <br />estimated market value on all single family residen- <br />tial property in the county. They have a slide <br />presentation and would like to present it at a future <br />council meeting. The last meeting in April was <br />suggested. Discussion tabled to March 8, 1978. <br />
