MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 26, 1978 Page 12 Mayor Warkentien read a letter submitted by R.A. Nagel 1437 West Idaho. His sewer had backed up into his basement. The main sewer was blocked and our main- tenance crew was called to clear the sewer line. It was decided by council to reimburse Mr. Nagel for his cost of hiring a sewer contractor to clear his line. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Black Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye".Mayor WArkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. No action taken, tabled to May 10, 1978. Councilman Steele discussed the Park Development Committee meeting held the night before. From the donated funds they would like to purchase backboards for basketball. Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Black to authorize the usage of the donated funds, $200.00 for backboards. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Councilman Steele noted that Falcon Woods Park is their prime concern at .this point. The desire of the committee is to make this park known and recognized b y a sign and also a nominal fee was quoted to have the boulevard checked and suggestions made as to how they should go about upgrading it. There is also a possibility of getting some free trees, they are damaged however, if taken care of properly - i.e., pruning, etc. they will be good as new. We need a holding area till they can be planted. Also, it was felt. that bleachers could be donated for the baseball field. ~~ R.A. Upon a vote being EXTENSION taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, 11:30 p.m. Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Engineer LEmberg reported that in the area there is a contractor that works frequently on parks and they may put up the racquet ball court as a donation. Councilman Steele also stated that the committee was planning on making a list of what is needed and see what can be brought in through donations from the people of Falcon Heights. Councilman McGough requested the cable be removed by the walkway so the elderly can use the walkway. He was informed that has already been done.
