MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 26, 1978 <br />Page 12 <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter submitted by R.A. Nagel <br />1437 West Idaho. His sewer had backed up into his <br />basement. The main sewer was blocked and our main- <br />tenance crew was called to clear the sewer line. It <br />was decided by council to reimburse Mr. Nagel for his <br />cost of hiring a sewer contractor to clear his line. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Black <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye".Mayor <br />WArkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and <br />Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />No action taken, tabled to May 10, 1978. <br />Councilman Steele discussed the Park Development <br />Committee meeting held the night before. From the <br />donated funds they would like to purchase backboards <br />for basketball. Councilman Steele moved, seconded <br />by Councilman Black to authorize the usage of the <br />donated funds, $200.00 for backboards. Upon a vote <br />being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien <br />Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and <br />the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Steele noted that Falcon Woods Park is their <br />prime concern at .this point. The desire of the <br />committee is to make this park known and recognized <br />b y a sign and also a nominal fee was quoted to have <br />the boulevard checked and suggestions made as to how <br />they should go about upgrading it. There is also a <br />possibility of getting some free trees, they are <br />damaged however, if taken care of properly - i.e., <br />pruning, etc. they will be good as new. We need a <br />holding area till they can be planted. Also, it was <br />felt. that bleachers could be donated for the baseball <br />field. <br />~~ <br />R.A. NAGEL <br />SEWER BACK UP <br />1437 Idaho <br />ROYAL HEINS <br />NO PARKING ON <br />LARPENTEUR <br />PARK DEVELOP- <br />MENT REPORT <br />Councilman Steele moved for a meeting extension to 11:30 MEETING <br />seconded by Councilman McGough. Upon a vote being EXTENSION <br />taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, 11:30 p.m. <br />Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and <br />the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Engineer LEmberg reported that in the area there is <br />a contractor that works frequently on parks and they <br />may put up the racquet ball court as a donation. <br />Councilman Steele also stated that the committee was <br />planning on making a list of what is needed and see <br />what can be brought in through donations from the <br />people of Falcon Heights. <br />Councilman McGough requested the cable be removed by <br />the walkway so the elderly can use the walkway. He <br />was informed that has already been done. <br />
