MINUTES _ <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JUNE 14, 1978 <br />Page 8 <br />Fire Chief Renchin also noted to council Jerry Baden has <br />retired from the department and Bert Gimmestad has been <br />discharged due to medical leave pending for the past year. <br />This brings department enrollment to 21 members. They <br />have been unsucessful this past year in recruting new <br />members for the department. <br />The problem at Flower City seems to be resolved. The <br />owner of Flower City. has contacted the Fire Department <br />and will accompany them on their next fire inspection. <br />Councilmember McGough reported the new deputy assigned to RAMSEY COUNTY <br />the evening shift in Falcon Heights is doing a good job. SHERIFF REPORT <br />He is concerned about the cycle rally coming up and <br />would like an extra man riding with him those two nights. <br />Councilmember McGough stated he had talked with Capt. <br />Spencer and was not sucessful in obtaining a rider for <br />our deputy. The City could hire an extra deputy, but <br />the sheriff department will not assign an extra deputy <br />at their expense. <br />Councilmember McGough questioned council regarding the <br />uniformed police at Roc-A-Fellas. Can the private patrol <br />do anything regarding juveniles returning after being <br />told to leave. Councilmember McGough was advised the <br />patrol could call Ramsey County Sheriff #662 for <br />assistance as the private patrol service is not permitted <br />to write a citation. <br />Councilmember McGough requested permission to put a 4" CEMENT RUNNER <br />cement runner under the .cyclone fence at Falcon Woods FALCON WOODS <br />Park, south of George Plant's property. This will be PARK <br />installed by George Plant to enable him to mow the back <br />of his lot that abuts the fence line. This will enhance <br />their property and the park as it will control weeds <br />growing close to the fence. Approval was given. <br />Councilmember Brown requested council to arrange for a 911 EMERGENCY <br />speaker to explain the 911 Emergency Radio System. <br />Council agreed to have a quest speaker in the near future. <br />Councilmember Brown reported that the Minnesota League MINNESOTA <br />has gotten a 20o return on their insurance questionaire LEAGUE INS. <br />and they are going to look into insurance needs for small <br />cities. This will include liquor liability, they are <br />unsure so to whether they will go into health insurance. <br />Councilmember Brown reported that Rose Hill nursary has ROSE HILL <br />been sold. <br />
