MINUTES _ REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 14, 1978 Page 8 Fire Chief Renchin also noted to council Jerry Baden has retired from the department and Bert Gimmestad has been discharged due to medical leave pending for the past year. This brings department enrollment to 21 members. They have been unsucessful this past year in recruting new members for the department. The problem at Flower City seems to be resolved. The owner of Flower City. has contacted the Fire Department and will accompany them on their next fire inspection. Councilmember McGough reported the new deputy assigned to RAMSEY COUNTY the evening shift in Falcon Heights is doing a good job. SHERIFF REPORT He is concerned about the cycle rally coming up and would like an extra man riding with him those two nights. Councilmember McGough stated he had talked with Capt. Spencer and was not sucessful in obtaining a rider for our deputy. The City could hire an extra deputy, but the sheriff department will not assign an extra deputy at their expense. Councilmember McGough questioned council regarding the uniformed police at Roc-A-Fellas. Can the private patrol do anything regarding juveniles returning after being told to leave. Councilmember McGough was advised the patrol could call Ramsey County Sheriff #662 for assistance as the private patrol service is not permitted to write a citation. Councilmember McGough requested permission to put a 4" CEMENT RUNNER cement runner under the .cyclone fence at Falcon Woods FALCON WOODS Park, south of George Plant's property. This will be PARK installed by George Plant to enable him to mow the back of his lot that abuts the fence line. This will enhance their property and the park as it will control weeds growing close to the fence. Approval was given. Councilmember Brown requested council to arrange for a 911 EMERGENCY speaker to explain the 911 Emergency Radio System. Council agreed to have a quest speaker in the near future. Councilmember Brown reported that the Minnesota League MINNESOTA has gotten a 20o return on their insurance questionaire LEAGUE INS. and they are going to look into insurance needs for small cities. This will include liquor liability, they are unsure so to whether they will go into health insurance. Councilmember Brown reported that Rose Hill nursary has ROSE HILL been sold.
