Motion carried. <br />1~ <br />(~NSENT AGENDA <br />(cont.) <br />Mayor Warkantien opened, for discussion the designation of private TREE-GENERAL <br />and boulevard trees and the survey that was requested by .the Council DISCUSSION <br />and prepared. by Engineer Lemberg. The 5'tate of I~iinnesota has cut <br />back funds on the diseased Shade Tree Program, thereby causing <br />financial stress in smaller communities. <br />Councilmember McGough reported the findings of the survey crew for <br />Asbury, Aroma, Sixi~son and Pascal. There were 37 on private property, <br />69 on the property line and 12 on the boulevard, for a total of 118 <br />trees. Councilmember Mr•Gough also stated the trees for 1979 have been <br />ordered as of June 30, 1978. <br />Mr. James Stemwedel - 1714!.4 Simpson appeared before aouinail questioning <br />the purpose of the survey, a number of trees have been removed already <br />and was the survey taken on trees already removed? Some residents <br />had heard trees reaaoved earlier, if determined to be private property <br />trees, would be charged back to the home owner. Also, their street <br />is scheduled to be planted with Redmond Lindens and he inquired <br />as to whether they are going to be planted this gear or will the <br />tr®es be planted in 1979. He also asked if enough trees had been <br />ordered. <br />The survey does not include trees that have been removed.
