MINUTES ii <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING 1~F~.r <br />SEPTEMBER 27, 1978 <br />Page 4 <br />Janet Brown requested Council consider maintaining REVIEW OF <br />the rink at the Falcon Heights Elementary School. PROPOSED <br />Council felt that the school rink was not used as much 1979 BUDGET <br />as other rinks and parental assistance was suggested {cont.} <br />due to problems occuring at the rink. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Black <br />to maintain only two rinks for the 1978-1979 winter <br />year and to refer to the Recreation Committee to decide <br />which two rinks shall be closed and monitor the use of <br />the two rinks. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted ^aye^^ Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and <br />Brown, and the following voted ^nay^: None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Council questioned the amount of money provided for <br />Hockey versus other recreational programs. It was <br />suggested groups of this nature should have their own <br />fund raising programs. <br />Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember <br />Black to donate $500.00 to the Falcon Heights Elementary <br />P.T.A for Big boy, to be installed on the Falcon Heights <br />Elementary School grounds and that the school establish <br />a specific schedule for use of the equipment for resident- <br />ial children. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted ^aye^: Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, Steele and Brown and <br />the following voted ^nay^: Councilmember McGough. <br />Motion carried. <br />The additional items for the Park Budget were as follows: <br />Item 54 $1,000• for equipment at Idaho-Snelling <br />Item 54 $2,000.OQ~ for Fun and fitness Trail at <br />Falcon Heights Community Park <br />Reduce Line Item 12B Summer Employees to X1,000.00 <br />Reduce Line Item 292 Rink Rental to $1,000.00 <br />Making the Parks and Recreation Budget a total of <br />$20,432.00• <br />Set the following Budget Accounts as itemized: <br />402 Clerk Administrator X51,532.00 <br />407 Planning Commission $50.00 <br />411 Policing $155,612.00 <br />Motion by Councilmember Steele, seconded by Councilmember <br />Brown, to extend the meeting beyond 11:00. Carried <br />unanimously. <br />412 Fire Budget, reduce Line Item 29 to 0 <br />
