MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 1978 Page 3 Attorney Kenefick requested Council advise and give ORDINANCE 64 specific guidelines for parking provisions in a PARKING Residential district. PROVISIONS [ '~ Discussion was held on the following points of concern: Number of cars parked in the rear yard when not surfaced, number of cars on a surfaced area, and number of cars which can be parked on a driveway. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Black to refer the matter to the Planning Commission for their recommendations. Upon a vote being taken the following voted ^aye^: Mayor Warkentien, Council- members Black, McGough and Brown and the following voted ^nay^: None. Councilmember Steele abstained. Motion carried. Attorney Kenefick was directed to spell out the section to be reviewed by the Planning Commission. Prosecuting Attorney Riach appeared before Council and informed them that his contract as Prosecuting Attorney would remain as in 1978 contract. Councilman Steele requested Attorney Riach give us a quarterly report from his office on cases prosecuted. Attorney Riach advised the Council he would comply with the request- Mayor Warkentien advised Councilman Steele that Council had reviewed the Budget on September 20, 1978 at a Special Meeting when Councilman Steele had another com- mitment. The Mayor mentioned a discussion was held in respect to maintaining four or two hockey rinks during the winter. Janet Brown, Chairperson of the Park Development Com- mittee of Falcon Heights appeared before the Council to request the Council to consider in the Park Budget the following: 1. $500.aD to be donated for the Falcon Heights Elementary School grounds equipment, Big Toy, which is to cost $6,000.00, the school to erect maintain and assume liability. 2. Fun and Fitness trail at the Falcon Heights Community Park which is estimated at $2,000.00. 3. $1,000.00 for trees and shrubs at the Falcon Heights Community Park. This would be in add- ition to a donation program by the citizens. 1979 BUDGET REVIEW 4. Idaho-Snelling park, $3,000.00 for equipment to be placed in the southerly area of the park. Councilmember Brown suggested the Council decide whether 4 or 2 rinks shall be maintained.
