1~~ <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 22, 1978 <br />Page !~ <br />The proposed St. Paul Water Contract was deferred to give the ST. PAUL <br />Attorney, Engineer and Clerk Administrator time to meet with WATER DEPT. <br />the St. Paul Water Department to change certain stipulations in CONTRACT <br />the proposed contract.. <br />Attorney Kenefick advised Council that the Fire Department did FIRE <br />not have to respond to contracted areas such as the State PROTECTION <br />Fairgrounds and University Farm Campus,-but suggested if they FAIRGROUNDS & <br />did get a call to inform the Dispatcher, who they are contracted U OF M CAMPUS <br />with,ar~d advise them to call the correct department. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council the Workmens Comp. HENRY DACHTERA <br />Claim on Henry Dachtera had been settled out of court for $12,500. WORKMENS COMP. <br />The break down was $12,000 to be paid by Home Insurance Co., rep- 'CLAIM SETTLED <br />resenting the City of Falcon Heights, and $500.00 by his permanent <br />employer <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Black to <br />permit the Fire Department to mail a letter to all residents in <br />the 55108 zip code area informing them the letters they had re- <br />ceived from Health Central, which indicated an emergency number, <br />was in error, and residents should be using Falcon Heights emergency <br />number !t8l~-3366. Motion carried unanimously.. <br />FIRE DEPT. TO <br />ADVISE RESI- <br />DENTS OF <br />CORRECT <br />EMERGENCY N0. <br />Councilmember Brown informed Council she was gathering news items CITY NEWS- <br />for the paper to be prepared for distribution in mid January and LETTER TO BE <br />requested they have any news iteans for the letter available by DISTRIBUTED <br />December 27, 1978. IN JANUARY <br />It was suggested that pertinent ordinances, which would be <br />informative to residents, should be listed in the newsletter. <br />Councilmember Brown suggested we use the !~-H Group for delivery !~-H GROUP Ta <br />as they had passed the Dump Flyers door to door and everyone DO DELIVERIES <br />was very satisfied with their performance. Council had no <br />objections. ' <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes advised Council that Lee Carlsen, 1776 REQUEST FOR <br />Fry Street, had requested Council to consider posting "no parking" NO PARKING ON <br />along Fry Street in front of the Spiegler Apartments, a.s they FRY ST. BY <br />were creating a hazard for ears backing out of their driveways APARTMENTS <br />on the east side. Council took no action on the request. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Black to MEETING <br />extend the meeting to 11:10 p.m.. Motion carried unanimously. EXTENDED Ta <br /> 11:10 P.M. <br />Mayor Warkentien advised Council that the League of Minnesota <br />Cities is moving forward in attempt to create an alternative LEAGUE OF <br />to the Conventional Commercial Insurance Market for Cities. MINN. CTTIES <br />Previously the Council submitted their approval of such a study with <br />a cost to Falcon Heights in the amount of $100.00, and they are <br />now requesting we submit that amount. <br />
