REGULARS CITY couNCIL MEETING ~.{~~ <br />NOVEMBER 22, 1978 <br />Page 3 <br />Councilmember Black requested that the narrative to be submitted by HEWLETT- <br />the firm to the Planning Commission, spell out the legal description PACKARD (cont~ <br />and the particular zones that are affected. <br />Council was also concerned about ingress and egress to the property <br />from Larpenteur and also future development of the land north of the <br />site for drainage purposes. <br />Councilmember Black moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele, to refer <br />the rezoning request of Hewlett Packard for Public Hearing scheduled <br />'for December 11, 1978 at 8:00 p.m. with the Planning Commission, and <br />set a Public Hearing before the Council on December 13, 1978 at 8:00 <br />p.m.. Motion carried unanimously. <br />John Webster appeared before Council to object to the letter written JOHN WF~STER <br />by the Human Rights Commission dated October 25, 1978, which was 1850 SHELLING <br />mailed both to Mr. Webster and his neighbor in respect to a mis- COMPLAINT <br />understanding by both parties. He felt the letter implied a repre- DISCUSSION <br />mend to both he and his wife instead of his neighbor. <br />Council advised Mr. Webster that the matter is outside the realm <br />of their jurisdiction and that he would have to pursue the matter <br />privately if he so desired. <br />Councilmember Black reviewed the Variance and Conditional Use Request ANK)CO COND. <br />of Amoco Co., to erect a pylon sign on their present location of USE REQUEST <br />their existing sign. The sign is to be 30 feet high and ZO feet 6 <br />inches wide. <br />Gouncilmember Black moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough, to refer <br />the Variance and Conditional Use Request of Amoco Co. for installation <br />of a 30 foot high by 10 foot 6 inch wide sign at the present sign <br />location, to the Planning Commission. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Engineer Glen Cook submitted to Council a Five Year Capital Improve- MINN. STA7Ts <br />ment Program for Minnesota State Aid Street Construction. Council AID STREET: <br />suggested the following be. considered as listed below: CONSTRUCTION <br />Roselawn Avenue - Snelling Avenue to Fairview Avenue - 1979 <br />Roselawn Avenue - Fairview Avenue to Cleveland Avenue - 1979 <br />Garden Avenue - Snelling Avenue to Pascal Avenue - 1979 <br />Roselawn Avenue - Snelling Avenue to Hemline Avenue - 1983 <br />Arona Avenue - Crawford Avenue to Garden Avenue - 1984 <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough to direct <br />the City Engineer to complete specifications and plans for the com- <br />pletion of Garden Avenue from Snelling Avenue to Pascal Street. Upon <br />a vote being taken the following voted }'aye" Mayor Warkentien, Council- <br />members Black, McGough and Brown, and the following voted '~nay~': <br />Councilmember Steele. Fiotion carried. <br />Engineer Cook also submitted to Council current data on all other City ENGINEER COOK <br />Streets and suggested needs for each as to surfacing, base, curb and STREET DATA <br />gutter, sidewalks, and storm sewers, and suggested they revi~•r the <br />reports for future consideration. <br />
