PAUL WATER <br />authorize the Mayor and Clerk Administrator to sign the 20 year Water CONTRACT <br />Service Contract with the City of St. Paul. Motion carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 78-23 <br />Joint Powers Agreement <br />(Sponsorship and Funding of Northwest <br />Suburban Youth Service Bureau) <br />Mayor Z~arkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele to adopt <br />Resolution 78-23, authorizing the Mayor a.nd Clerk Administrator to <br />execute the Joint Pot-revs Agreement far the year 1979, titiThich funds <br />were budgeted for in the amount of X2,119.00. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following voted ''aye" : Mayor ti~~arkenti.en, Councilmembers <br />Black, ~icGcugh, Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />78-23 YOUTH <br />SERVICE BUREAU <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough to authorize SECRETAFcY <br />the Clerk Administrator to hire Shirley Chenoweth as Secretary for HIRING-SHIRLEY <br />the City of Falcon Heights at $800.00 per month effective December 1, CHENOti>>E~I <br />1978. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Gouncilmembers Black, McGough and Steele. Councilmember <br />Broom abstained. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien called to order the Public Hearing for rezoning the REZONE <br />Hermes property lccated at 2001 W. Larpenteur at 8:00 p.m. The DON HERMES <br />request is to rezone from R-3, R-2, and R-1 to B-1 6 to permit a HEFJLETT-FAGKARD <br />commercial business to be constructed on the site. (Hewlett-~°ackard) PUBLIC HEARING <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes read the legal notice and displayed the <br />affidavit of publication. <br />Councilmember Black informed Council that at the Planning Commission <br />Meeting of December 11, 1978-the rezoning matter was heard at a Public <br />Hearing and it was unanimously recommended that the City Council look <br />favorably on approving the rezoning request, subject to the City Engineers <br />opinion, which is on file. <br />Fred Harvey, representing Hewlett-Packard, was called on to inform Council <br />of their intent on the utilization of. the property and to clarify numer- <br />ous questions asked at the Planning Commission Hearing. He informed the <br />Council that out of the 75 employees only 25 are in the office and the <br />rest are in sales and are not in the office very often. They will be <br />training a class approximately 1. week out of the month with approximately <br />1~0 students. <br />The Company's intent is to be a good neighbor and pride themselves in <br />their facilities building-wise and also in landscaping. <br />The reason for locating in Falcon Heights was due to the freeway system <br />access, Fred Harvey informed Council. <br />
