MINUTES ~'~ <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 27, 1978 <br />Page 2 <br />Attorney Kenefick advised Council that in approving the rezoning of REZONING OF <br />the Hermes Property, which Hewlett-Packard intends to purchase, it HER~IES <br />is required to publish an Ordinance amending the Zoning Map which PROPERTY <br />is a part of Zoning Ordinance #61~. <br />ORDINANCE #163 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 6!~ ENTITLED ~~THE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE FOR FALCON HEIGHTS, RELATED TO A COMPRE- <br />HENSIVE AMENDMENT AND REZONING OF THE VILLAGE, AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 8 ORIGINALLY PASSED BY THE VILLAGE OF FALCON <br />HEIGHTS ON OCTOBER 21, 1919" AS AMENDED. <br />1 <br />Councilme~mber Black moved the adoption of Ordinance #163 to amend <br />the Zoning Map of Ordinance #61t relative to the rezoning of the <br />Hermes proport~ and to direct the Clerk Administrator to publish <br />said Ordinance. Councilme~nber Brown seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote being taken the following voted "aye~~: Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilme~nbers Black, Steele and Brown and the following voted ~~nay~': <br />None. Motion carried. <br />Attorney Kenefick advised Council that Hewlett Packard is holding off <br />their closing for a period of time until the Subdivision Ordinance <br />#69 is complied with. The copy of the final Certificate of Survey <br />and request from the attorney for Don Hermes has been filed request- <br />ing approval of the subdivision of the existing property, which should <br />be referred to the Planning Commission and also prosent it at the <br />January 10, 1979 Council Meeting for Public H®aring. Upon approval <br />of the subdivision of the property the deed may be recorded with the <br />County Auditor. <br />The notice to be published will notify the public of the Planning <br />Commission Meeting and the Public Hearing. <br />ORDINANCE #163 <br />HEWLETT-PACKARD <br />CLOSING DELAYED <br />Councilmeanber Black moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele, that the HERMES SUB- <br />subdivision be considered by the Planning Commission on January 8, DIVISION TO <br />1979 and that the same matter be considered at a Public Hearing before PLANNING COMM. <br />the Falcon Heights City Council at 8 p.m. on January 10, 1979 and that & PUBLIC HEARINt <br />the Clerk Administrator be directed to have the proper notice published <br />in the official news paper. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmeanber Black explained that the Metropolitan Council is re- <br />quiring all cities in the metropolitan aroa to provide a Comprehensive <br />Plan for each governing unit.. A committee consisting of Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes, Mike Heffron, John Labalestra, Jim Lammers and <br />Councilme:nber B1ack,o~nsidered qualified planners sad unanimously <br />recommended Howard Dahlgren & Associates, Inc. ba hired as Planner. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council he had contacted Mr. <br />Dahlgren by phone and he had agreed to an hourly basis as planner, not <br />to exceed the amount of $12,000.00.
