Upon a vote being tal~an' <br />the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Bl~.ek, ' <br />McGough and Brown, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried.' <br />Engineer Cook presented the letter from the State Department of GARDEN AVENUE <br />Transportation regarding the improvement of Garden Avenue. Accord- IMPROVEMENT• <br />ing;ta the letter from Elmer Morris, District State Aid Engineex, ENGINEER COOK <br />they?;xi11 not approve a 32' roadway. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough, that <br />the Cty~s Consulting Engineer contact Elmer Morris on the morning <br />of Fx~3:da March 30 1979 to •} <br />Y~ , get his final answer after his meeting <br />with Bill Brown and his neighbors, which meeting is to be held pn <br />March:29, 1979, and that if Mr. Morris does not change his mind, we <br />hereby authorize the Engineer to go ahead with the 36' roadwaya ir} <br />order .that plans can be submitted to the Highway Department for final <br />approval. Motion carried. <br />Zhe CQUncil is very concerned over any further delay in this project <br />due to°the possible reflection in the cost. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented to Council the letter from Tqm REQUEST FOR <br />and Karen Jones, 1531 w. Iowa, requesting permission to plant ~ HACKBERRTY TREE <br />Hackberry tree on the: boulevard in front of their home rather than TOM JONES <br />the ash as specified in the City's plans. The Clerk Administraytor 1531 IOWA <br />explained that Councilmember Steele had cared him to advise him <br />of the fact that he would not be in attendance far this discuSe~.on, <br />and he 'wanted it on record that he would-not approve of 'tie Hoek- <br />berry. <br />Councilmember Black moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough, that • <br />since the Tree CommitteQ and Tree Consultants have recommended a <br />planting program which was approved by the Council and that planting <br />program calls for the planting of ash trees on this street (Iowa) <br />and Council does npt care to deviate from that plan. Upon a vote <br />being ..taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Council- <br />members:Black, McGough and Brown, and the following voted "nay~~ <br />None . Motion carried. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested permission to transfer REQUEST TO <br />$20,000;00 from the Municipal Liquor Fund to Sanitary Sewer Fund. TRANSFER $20,000 <br />This would reduce the temporary loan from the Sewer Fund to TO SEWER FUND <br />$20,000.00. <br />
