Motion carried unanimously. <br />37 <br />approve MINUTES OF <br />MAY 9, 1979 <br />APPROVED <br />Councilmember Brown informed Council that the Recreation Advisory RECREATION <br />Committee has prepared a Job Description for Recreation Committee Members ADVISORY <br />and requested comments from Council. Sandy Larson of the Recreation COMMISSION <br />Advisory Committee also participated in the discussion. The following <br />suggestions were made: (a) promote the use of all recreational facilities, <br />cooperate with the Falcon Woods Park Development Committee, and meet at least <br />twice yearly with the Falcon Woods Parlc Development Committee, (b) intake it <br />clear that the Committee consists of 5 voting members, Council Liaison does <br />not vote, (c) ~.llow Recreation Advisory Committee to spend money from their <br />budgeted amount with approval of the Clerk Administrator, rather than coming <br />to Council, (d) that appointments should be made so that they alternate 3 <br />two year terms and that terms be limited to 2 consecutive terms, and (e) <br />that the duties of the Council Liaison be defined. The final job descri- <br />ption is to be assembled by Sandy Larson. <br />The Recreation Advisory Committee met with Jeanne Saari, 1979 Park Attend- <br />ant and Soccer Coach, and she has agreed to work 5 days a week from 2:00 to <br />9:00 p.m. with an hour off for dinner. The Committee is also discussing the <br />possibility of an ice cream social in Falcon Woods Park and Ms. Saari is <br />interested in assisting. Council approved of the idea. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a request from Hermes Floral Co., Inc. for a median REQUEST FOR <br />cut in front of their new location at 1750 W. Larpenteur Ave.. Mayor MEDIAN CUT <br />Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough that the matter be AT 1750 W. <br />referred to the City Engineer. Motion carried unanimously. LARPENTEUR <br />Mayor Warkentien presented to Council a petition signed by eleven <br />residents on Tatum Street requesting that the 2 hour parking limit be <br />extended north on Tatum to 1795 Tatum. Councilmember McGough moved, <br />seconded by Councilmember Kurpiewski, that "2 hour parking" signs be <br />placed on Tatum north to 1795 Tatum. Motion carried unanimously. <br />2 HOUR PARKING <br />ON TATUM TO <br />BE EXTENDED <br />' Mayor Warkentien read a letter from Nancy Kareken of the Human Rights NANCY KAREKEN <br />Commission advising that she must resign June 1, 1979. Councilmember RESIGNS FROM <br />Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough that the resignation be HUMAN RIGHTS <br />accepted. Motion carried unanimously. COMMISSION <br />
