Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Kurpiewski, to authorize the employment of a live band at the cost of approxim`_tely $200.00, the amount to be , taken from the Treasurer's Cash Balance. Motion carried unan-?_~nously. Clerk Administrator Barnes requested authorization to buy a used USED GRAPHOTYPE Graphotype at a cost of $675.00. Mayor CITY OFFICE Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Kurpiewski, that the Clerk Administrator be authorized to purchase a used Graphotype machine at a cost of $675.00, to be purchased with funds from the Sanitary Sewer Fund. Motion carried unanimously. Councilmember Kurpiewski suggested that the Mayor or Clerk Adminstator NEW SIGNS FOR contact the Governor requesting a Falcon Heights Recognition FALCON HEIGHTS Day during the Minnesota State Fair. There was also discussion re- CITY LIMITS garding the signs at the Falcon Heights City limits. Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Kurpiewski, to change the signs on the principal streets entering the City of Falcon Heights to incorporate the fact that the City is the home of the Minnesota State Fair and the University of Minnesota Institute of Agriculture. Motion carried unanimously. Clerk Administrator Barnes presented Council a letter from the Ramsey SHERIFF'S DEPT. County Sheriff's Department informing that the 20~ per mile charged PROPOSED COST to contractual cities is not sufficient at today's gasoline prices, INCREASES and that effective zly 1, 1979 the cost per mile will be 23~. He also received a letter {,- -, the Sherif_f's Department advising that the Department anticipates adding additional employees to the staff raising the total to 15, and want contractual cities to cover the cost in excess of ~ employees. !~'ouncil directec the Clerk Admini- strator to read the City`s contract with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department and contact the Sheriff's Department for more information.
