Owasso Blvci. <br />St. Paul, MN 55112 <br />59 <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown to approve CONSENT AGENDA <br />the Consent Agenda as presented. Upon a vote being taken the follo~~ing APPROVED <br />voted "aye": Mayor ;Jarkentien, Councilmenrbers McGough, Stone and BTOFm, <br />and the following voted "nay": 1Vone. Councilmember Steele abstained. <br />Alotion carried. <br />Clerl: Administrator Barnes reported that Charles P. Stone, 1375 LJ. CHARLES P. <br />Idaho, was sworn in as Councilmember on July 2, 1x79 at 2:30 p.m. STONE SWORN IN <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown to approve MINUTES OF <br />the Minutes of June 2G, 1979 as presented. Motion carried unanimously. JUNE 26, 1970 <br />APPROVED <br />Michelle Foster, P.auenhorst Corporation, addressed Council requesting <br />approval of a building permit for a service center to be added to the HEGdLETT-PACI~ARI <br />proposed Hewlett-Packard Building. The center will service approxi- SERVICE CENTER <br />mately 40 company cars, (no employee's cars) will be located east of_ the BUILDING PERMIZ <br />building,and completely inside the building in order that neighbors will GRANTED <br />not be disturbed. ' <br />Concerned citizens in attendance were George Y.ilgriff, 1739 Tatum, <br />Eugene Boeckerman, 1733 Tatum, Gordon Pollard, 1959 [J. Larpenteur, <br />and Jane Mitteco, 1715 Tatum. Some possible problems discussed were <br />gasoline fumes, increase in fire rates, hours in operation and increase <br />in traffic flow. <br />Fred llarvey of Hewlett-Packard assured that the company would service <br />1 or 2 cars per day and that there would ~e no additional traffic, <br />no additional hazards as far as ir_surance :is concerned, and very little <br />servicing on weel: ends. The operation caul meet the Metro Flaste Control <br />requirements. 1`~Ir. llarvey also in~ormed that Ifewlett-Packard already <br />has such an operation in another area and i.t has presented no problems. <br />There was some discussion regardin„ having tine gasoline pump inside the <br />building. En;ineer Lemberg informed that placing; t':7e ~~ump inside is <br />within code, however, Fire Chief Renchin is not in favor of having the <br />pump within the buildinb. <br />T~Iayor [larkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember ]3ro~an, that the building <br />permit for the Hewlett-Packard Service Canter be granted. Upon a vote <br />beinb taken the followin voted "aye" : 'Mayor '~.Jar'_c:ntien, Councilmembers <br />Stone, Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay": Councilmember <br />IlcCough. Llotion carried. <br />
