California, to construct a garabe 2 feet from the side yard and 2 JOHN C. KELSEY <br />feet from the rear yard. Councilme~.nber Steele moved, seconded by Council- 1470 ti•1. <br />member Mc.Gough that the variance be ;;ranted, as recommended by the '_'lan- CALIFOP,NIA <br />Wing Conur~ission. Motion carried iinanimous_ly. <br />A]_so presented was a variance and conditional use request from Stevan VARIANCE AND <br />A. ';7ikstrom, 1729 Arona, to erect a util::ity shed. .CouncilmemberMcGough CONDITIONAL <br />moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele that the variance and conditional USE - STEVEN <br />use be granted, as reconunended by the P]_anning Commission. Motion carried WICKSTROM - <br />unanimously. 1729 ARONA <br />Counci]_rnember Steele moved, seconded by ,4ayor Warkentien to rescind RESOLUTION <br />Resolution 79-13 of Aoril 11, 1979, relocating the Fire Lane at 1607 79-13 <br />i1. Larpenteur. (Bullseye Golf) linon a vote being taken, the followiing RESCINDED <br />voted "aye": Mayor War'.centien, Councilmembers Steele and Brown, and <br />the following voted "nay": Councilmember '?4cGOU~h. Councilmember Stone <br />abstained. Motion carried. <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, to author- tifEDIAN CUT <br />ize Clerlc Administrator Barnes to request that I:amsey Councy make a TO BE REQUESTED <br />median cut at 1750 W. Larpenteur, the costs to be borne by Hermes Floral AT 1750 W. <br />Co., hic. ~~iotion carried unanimously. Tlie median cut was requested LARPENTEUP, <br />'oy Jon lier_mes and recommended by ln~,:ineer Lemberg. <br />Councilmember McGou~lz moved, seconded by Councilm.ernber Brown, that the FIRE DEPT. <br />Falcon t.eights Fire Department be authorized to provide standby service STANDBY DURING <br />at the State Fair for 7 days at $165.00 per day, totaling $1,155.00. STATE FAIR <br />P~Iotion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele to adopt RESOLUTION <br />Resolution 79-18 estab]_ishing the rate of assistance to private property 79-18 <br />owners at 50% of the cost of remova]_ of diseased trees, not to exceed <br />$100.00 }per tree, limit 5 trees ner year, an~i to authorize Clerlc Admini- <br />strator Barnes and ?Mayor Waricentien to si<;n the 1979 Shade Tree Contract. <br />Unon a vote being taken the followinu voted "aye": Mayor War;,centien, <br />Councilmembers McGough, Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay": <br />i~lone. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTIONI 79-18 <br />A RESOLUTION F.STABLIStiI.JC `I'iE RATE OF ASSISTANCE FOR SI3ADE <br />TREE SAiQITATIOi~ OF PRIVATE PROPERTY UNllLR "ZIiJNESOTA STATUTE <br />18.023 <br />attorney Kenefick presented to Council one possible agreement to be offered GEORGE <br />to George Willkom, retired Liquor Store Manager. The agreement was designed WILLKOM <br />to stipulate conditions under which T~[r. b]illkom would work, should he return RETIREc2ENT <br />to work on a part time basis. Attorney Kenefick informed that Mr.GJillkom DISCUSSION <br />had been advised by himself and Mayor ~tiarkentien that he must not work the <br />month of July, 1979 and is to be in the Liquor Store only as a customer or <br />visitor during that period. <br />Councilmember Stone stated he felt employing 1Kr. Tdilllcom as a consultant <br />would be the best way to handle the situation. Councilmember Steele agreed <br />
