M1NU'rEs RECULAfZ CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 25, 1979 PAGE 3 ~~ Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor McGough that GEORGE WILLKOM Clerk Ad-tiinistrator Barnes be authorized to instruct City Attorney (cont.) Kenefick to meet with Mr. Willkom's attorney and attempt to come up with a workable consultant type contract, and that the attorneys attend the August 8, 1979 meeting if they so desire. Motion carried unanimously. Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that Liquor Store JOHN SOSNIECKI Employee, John Sosniecki, requested a salary increase from $11,500.00 SALARY INCREASE to $13,500.00 as of August 1, 1979 d::e to the fact that he has been APPROVED working in a managerial position since the retirement of George Willkom. Some concern was expressed regarding Mr. Sosniecki's position in the event Mr. Willkom is re-hired on a part time basis. It was decided that if T1r. Wi111com is working on a consultant basis this would not create any difficulty. Acting Mayor McGough moved, seconded by Council- member Brown, to authorize Clerk Administrator Barnes to increase Mr. Sosniecki's salary from $11,500.00 to $13,500.00 as of August 1, 1979. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor McGough . Councilmembers Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay": None. Councilmember Stone abstained. Motion carried. Councilmember Brown was excused at 9:10 p.m. COUNCILMEMBER BROWN EXCUSED Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that the report from Metro Council stating the City Census for the year, as far as local aids are CENSUS DATA concerned, shows the count reduced from 5,530 to 5,375. Due to the Section 8 Housing having an up-to-date and correct count of multi- family units it was determined the count from Metro Council was in error. Also questioned was the 155 count given for the group quarters. (Bailey Hall, University of Minnesota) A certification was received from the University of Minnesota showing 445 residents in Bailey Hall. Clerk Administrator Barnes submitted the information to Dorothy Oatman of Metro Council. Mrs. Oatman was receptive and some adjustment will be made. Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor McGough that the ADJOURNMENT meeting be adjourned at 9:20 p.m. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor McGough, Councilmembers Stone and Steele, and the following voted "nay": Motion carried. ~'~/' .~' Peter J.
