M1NU'rEs <br />RECULAfZ CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JULY 25, 1979 <br />PAGE 3 <br />~~ <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor McGough that GEORGE WILLKOM <br />Clerk Ad-tiinistrator Barnes be authorized to instruct City Attorney (cont.) <br />Kenefick to meet with Mr. Willkom's attorney and attempt to come up <br />with a workable consultant type contract, and that the attorneys <br />attend the August 8, 1979 meeting if they so desire. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that Liquor Store JOHN SOSNIECKI <br />Employee, John Sosniecki, requested a salary increase from $11,500.00 SALARY INCREASE <br />to $13,500.00 as of August 1, 1979 d::e to the fact that he has been APPROVED <br />working in a managerial position since the retirement of George <br />Willkom. <br />Some concern was expressed regarding Mr. Sosniecki's position in the <br />event Mr. Willkom is re-hired on a part time basis. It was decided <br />that if T1r. Wi111com is working on a consultant basis this would not <br />create any difficulty. Acting Mayor McGough moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Brown, to authorize Clerk Administrator Barnes to increase Mr. <br />Sosniecki's salary from $11,500.00 to $13,500.00 as of August 1, 1979. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor McGough . <br />Councilmembers Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay": None. <br />Councilmember Stone abstained. Motion carried. <br />Councilmember Brown was excused at 9:10 p.m. COUNCILMEMBER <br />BROWN EXCUSED <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that the report from Metro <br />Council stating the City Census for the year, as far as local aids are CENSUS DATA <br />concerned, shows the count reduced from 5,530 to 5,375. Due to the <br />Section 8 Housing having an up-to-date and correct count of multi- <br />family units it was determined the count from Metro Council was in <br />error. Also questioned was the 155 count given for the group quarters. <br />(Bailey Hall, University of Minnesota) A certification was received <br />from the University of Minnesota showing 445 residents in Bailey Hall. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes submitted the information to Dorothy Oatman <br />of Metro Council. Mrs. Oatman was receptive and some adjustment will <br />be made. <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor McGough that the ADJOURNMENT <br />meeting be adjourned at 9:20 p.m. Upon a vote being taken the following <br />voted "aye": Acting Mayor McGough, Councilmembers Stone and Steele, <br />and the following voted "nay": Motion carried. <br />~'~/' .~' <br />Peter J.
