MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEE'PING <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1979 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that RESOLUTION 79-21 <br />the following Resolution be adopted: <br />A RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br />FOR DELINQUENT SANITARY SEWER RENTAL CHARGES <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council viewed a proposed birthday greeting to be published in the BIRTHDAY GREETING <br />St. Paul Dispatch-Pioneer Press recognizing the City of St. Paul's HONORING ST. PAUL': <br />125th year. Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember 125TH YEAR TO BE <br />McGough to authorize the expenditure of $258.35 to publish the PUBLISHED <br />greeting. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, McGough and Brown, and the follow- <br />ing voted "nay": Councilmember Stone. Motion carried. <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele, to GEORGE M. HANSEN <br />authorize the George M. Hansen Co. to begin the 1979 audit at a CO. TO DO 1979 <br />cost between $4,500.00 and $4,800.00, with a possible adjustment AUDIT <br />if less time is spent. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council discussed the subject of towing illegally parked vehicles <br />during the State Fair. Dissatisfaction was expressed regarding <br />the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department refusing to tow illegaly <br />parked vehicles during the 1979 Fair. Council authorized Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes to write Ramsey County Sheriff Zacharias in- <br />dicating displeasure with the way the towing was handled during <br />the 1979 Fair and asking that the City's requests be honored in <br />the future. <br />Engineer Lemberg informed Council that he has studied plans for <br />the proposed condominium at 2061 W. Larpenteur and although the <br />plans seem to be within the ordinance he feels the structure <br />should not be built on that site due to the small size of the <br />property. He also stated he felt that the building would be <br />inappropriate in that area which is zoned commercial at this <br />time. Council requested that Clerk Administrator Barnes invite <br />Bob Moder and his architect, Lawrence Sieberlich, to attend the <br />next Council Meeting for further discussion. <br />Engineer Lemberg gave an update on the Garden Avenue construction <br />and the sealcoating project east of Snelling. <br />Engineer Lemberg suggested that the gravel swept from the seal- <br />coating be stockpiled for use in next year's sealcoating. Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes will contact the Fairgrounds to request <br />permission to stockpile in the north parking lot. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter from W<irnei: Cable Corporation <br />offering to meet with Council to discuss Cable '1V. Attorney <br />henefick suggested that he ask Iron Abrahams from the Briggs and <br />Morgan. firm to attend a Council Meeting to explain Cable TV. <br />Council authorized Attorney Kenefick to make the arrangements <br />STATE FAIR TOWING <br />DISCUSSION <br />BOB MODER TO BE <br />INVITED TO OCT. <br />10, 1979 MEETING <br />ENGINEER LEMBERG <br />CABLE TV TO BE <br />DISCUSSED <br />
