~- S J <br /> <br />1 <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1979 <br />PAGE 3 <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes inquired as to what is to be done with WARMING HOUSE <br />the warming house at Falcon Heights Elementary School. Council FALCON HEIGHTS <br />authorized the Clerk Administrator to contact the Principal of the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />school and inquire if the school would be interested in buying the FOR SALE <br />building for $1,000.00. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented to Council the proposed 1980 1980 BUDGET <br />Budget for discussion. DISCUSSION <br />Councilmember McGough suggested that an additional $5,000.00 be ;~ <br />added to the Planning Commission Budget to cover the cost of the <br />Comprehensive Plan bringing that total to $10,300.00. Council <br />agreed to the increase. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested an addiion of $5,700 to the <br />Municipal Building Budget in order to purchase a storage building <br />in which to store equipment which stands outside at the present <br />time. <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that STORAGE BUILDING <br />the Municipal Building Budget be increased $5,700.00 and that TO BE BUILT NEAR <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes be authorized to purchase the storage MUNICIPAL BUILDING <br />building. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, McGough and Brown, and <br />the following voted "nay": Councilmember Stone. Motion carried. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that a motion would <br />be necessary to increase the City employee mileage allowance from <br />15fi to 20~ per mile as requested by Fire Chief Renchin. Council- <br />member Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough that the <br />mileage allowance for City officials and employees be increased <br />from 15~ to 20~ per mile. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council reviewed the 1980 Budget as had been proposed at the <br />September 17, 1979 and September 12, 1979 meetings and made the <br />two adjustments, one in the Planning Commission Account and in <br />the Municipal Building Account. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Stone to adopt <br />the Budget for 1980 at $547,722, which includes Sinking Fund. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien and Councilmember Stone, and the following voted "nay": <br />Councilmembers Steele, McGough and Brown. Motion failed. <br />Council discussed levying to the maximum levy limit and putting <br />the excess funds in the Contingency Fund. <br />MILEAGE ALLOWANCE <br />INCREASED FROM <br />15~ TO 20C <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, to <br />adopt the 1980 Budget in the amount of $570 876, which includes <br />sinking funds, and that the excess of $11,118 be added to the <br />Contingency Fund. Upon a vote being taken the following voted <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, McGough and Brown, <br />and the following voted "nay": Councilmember Stone.
