~~~ <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 28, 1979 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Mayor Warkentien informed Council that approval of the 911 Emergency 911 EMERGENCY <br />Telephone Service must be done by resolution before December 15, 1979. TELEPHONE <br />He inquired as to what might happen if the City does not approve 911. SERVICE DIS- <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes stated that it will probably be implemented CUSSION <br />anyway as Ramsey County is required to do so by State Law. If Falcon <br />Heights does not respond,.the City's share of the cost would no doubt <br />be added to the policing contract price. After considerable dis- <br />cussion Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Stone <br />that a representative of the Ramsey County 911 Planning Committee <br />(preferably Don Salverda) be invited to the December 12th Council <br />Meeting to discuss the matter. Motion carried unanimously. '• <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that Metro Council is re- DELAY TO BE <br />questing Falcon Heights state a position on the Cable Service Territory ~ REQUESTED ON <br />but that some communities have asked for a delay. Councilmember Steele CABLE TV <br />moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown that the Clerk Administrator be DECISION <br />authorized to request that Falcon Heights be given a delay in making <br />a decision on the matter. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes asked Council's opinion on the possibility <br />of changing the December 26th Council Meeting date to December 27, <br />1979. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Stone that the <br />meeting scheduled for December 12tYi be changed to December 13, 1979 <br />in order that all members can be present to hear the 911 Emergency <br />Telephone Service presentation. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Kenneth J. Wielinski, 1811 Arona, informed Council that the insurance <br />company for Blacktop Service had contacted him and they will take care <br />of damage done to his home during the Garden Avenue Project. Mr. <br />Wielinski also stated that in repairing his driveway the contractor <br />did not use a fine mix of asphalt (as requested by Engineer Lemberg) <br />thus causing a rough area on the driveway. Engineer Lemberg had <br />advised Mr. Wielinski that the matter would be corrected in the spring <br />of 1980. <br />Mayor Warkentien reported to Council that he and Engineer Lemberg had <br />met with Charles Smith,,1605 Fulham, Lauderdale, and that Mr. Smith <br />has agreed to give Lauderdale a construction easement on his property <br />in order that the damaged drainage tiles might be repaired. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported on the Levy Limits Task Force <br />Committee and suggested that the Councilmembers attend the Metro Area <br />Levy Limits Meeting to be held on January 9, 1980. At that time a <br />total presentation will be given regarding the information to be sub- <br />mitted to the State Legislature. <br />DEC. 26TH <br />MEETING <br />CHANGED TO 27TH <br />DEC. 12TH <br />MEETING CHANGED <br />TO 13TH <br />K. J. WIELINSKI <br />1811 ARONA <br />EASEMENT TO BE <br />GRANTED FOR <br />FULHAM DRAINAGE <br />PROBLEM <br />LEVY LIMITS <br />REPORT <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter from the Northwest Suburban Youth NW SUBURBAN <br />Service Bureau informing that 5 special education persons from Mounds YOUTH SERVICE <br />View High School had written various communities asking further support BUREAU <br />for the Bureau. The teachers apparently did not know that Falcon <br />Heights had already exceeded the support requested by. the Bureau, and <br />the City should disregard the request for additional funds. <br />
