MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 28, 1979 <br />PAGE 3 <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes recommended to Council that Paul Ciernia, <br />Human Rights Chairperson, be authorized to attend a meeting sponsored <br />by the Minnesota Deaprtment of_ human Rights regarding the No Fault <br />Grievance Process. Marion Pocker, representing the Falcon Heights <br />Human Rights Commission, explained that Paul Ciernia would attend the <br />meeting to find what is actually involved and if it seems reasonable <br />to go ahead, other Human Rights Members could volunteer for training <br />(with Council's approval). Council agreed that Mr. Ciernia should <br />attend ttie meeting and report back to Council. <br />Mayor Warkentien informed Council that Attorney Kenefick advised that <br />he could see no difficulty if the City of Falcon Heights should charge <br />policing services to the liquor store, providing accurate records are <br />kept so there would be substantiation if there should be questions <br />later on. Mayor Warkentien, moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele <br />that the Clerk Administrator be directed to secure adequate costs of <br />police protection for the Municipal Liquor Store and that these costs <br />be charged against the Municipal Liquor Store. Motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />~~~ <br />HUMAN RIGHTS <br />NO FAULT <br />GRIEVANCE <br />MEETING <br />POLICING CHARGE <br />FOR LIQUOR.' <br />STORE <br />Councilmember Steele expressed concern that the City might be liable WATER PRESSURE <br />for water damage caused by any leaks due to the Water Department in- INCREASE E. OF <br />creasing the water pressure north of Larpenteur and east of Snelling. SNELLING AND <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes was instructed to contact Attorney Kenefick ,~ OF LARPENTEUR: <br />regarding the matter. <br />Councilmember Steele inquired about the portion of the Human Rights SECTION 8 <br />Minutes stating that the Section 8 Housing, category is filled, as HOUSING <br />there was no explanation of wYiat is meant by category. He also ex- DISCUSSION <br />pressed concern that f-oreign students are eligible for Section 8 <br />Housing which might possibly delay assistance to others in Falcon <br />Heights who are in need.
