Motion 1980 <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson that Michael HEFFRON AND <br />Heffron, State Fairgrounds and Al Stefanson, 1810 Holton, be reappointed STEFANSON RE- <br />to the Planning Commission. (Terms will expire December 31, 1982) APPOINTED TO <br />Motion carried unanimously. PLANNING COMM. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown that Paul C. CIERNIA, HARDEN <br />Ciernia, 1868 Holton, Gisela Harden, 1777 Simpson, and Russell C. AND BIERBAUM <br />Bierbaum, 1745 Simpson; be reappointed to the Human Rights Commission. REAPPOINTED TO <br />(Terms to expire December 31, 1982) Motion carried unanimously. HUMAN RIGHTS <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown that Phillip SHIVELY AND <br />Shively, 1572 Northrup, be reappointed to the Recreation Advisory JERNBERG, REC- <br />Committee and that James Jernberg, 1540 W. Iowa, be appointed to the REATION ADVISORY <br />Recreation Advisory Committee to fill a vacancy. Motion carried un- COMMITTEE <br />animously. <br />William G. Shepherd, 2197 Folwell, representing concerned citizens of REPAIR OF STREET <br />the University Grove area, addressed Council requesting that the street LIGHT AT BURTON <br />light at the intersection of Burton and Folwell be repaired. The resi- & FOLWELL <br />dents of that area felt the light necessary for the safety and security WM. G. SHEPHERD <br />of the residents. After some discussion Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded <br />by Councilmember Brown that the Clerk Administrator be authorized to <br />arrange for immediate repair of the light. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Shepherd provided Attorney Kenefick with a lighting contract between <br />the University of Minnesota and Northern States Power, which he felt <br />might still be valid. Council instructed Mr. Kenefick to review the <br />contract and determine whether or not the contract can be transferred <br />to the City of Falcon Heights. Council instructed Clerk Administrator <br />Barnes to contact Northern States Power and inquire if the contract will <br />be honored. <br />Councilmember Steele suggested that if the contract is not valid Council <br />might consider changing the lighting system to conform with the system in <br />other areas of the City, which are serviced by Northern States Power. <br />Edward Reddy, 1231 Hubbard, St. Paul, addressed Council requesting that EDWARD REDDY <br />the $50.00 charge for rescue service be dismissed. Due to Mr. Reddy's 1231 HUBBARD <br />misunderstanding of the routine procedures followed by the Rescue De- ST. PAUL <br />partment (which was explained by Chief Renchin) Council reconsidered RESCUE CHARGE <br />~ the charge. _ DISMISSED <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele that the $50.00 <br />charge be cancelled. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, Brown and Larson and the follow- <br />ing voted "nay": None. Councilmember Eggert abstained. Motion carried. <br />
