J <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes presented the Metro Housing Bulletin, METRO HOUSING <br />Section 8, which relates to the Housing Assistance Payments Pro- BULLETIN <br />gram. Ms. Nancy Reeves of the Metro Council staff requested that <br />the Council review and consider this proposal. It was suggested <br />that Pat Buschmann of the Human Rights Commission contact Ms. Reeves <br />and invite her to the next Human Rights Commission meeting of Jan- <br />uary 22, 1975 and review this proposal and report back to the Council <br />on January 23, 1975. <br />Councilman Steele reported that the Tree Committee was in the process TREE COMMITTEE <br />of finalizing their report of trees within the City, and that they <br />would have a final report sometime in the future. The next meeting <br />of the Tree Committee is to be January 28, 1975 with Engineer Lemberg <br />attending. <br />The salary status of Irene Tein, former Traffic Clerk for the City IRENE TEIN <br />of Falcon Heights, was reviewed as requested by Irene Tein. Mayor SALARY STATUS <br />Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, that Irene Tein <br />be paid $250.00 to compensate her for the services rendered over <br />and above normal work hours, and that a letter be written accompaning <br />the payment explaining the Councils action. Motion carried. <br />The Planned Unit Development proposed ordinance was deferred to PUD <br />the next meeting of January 23, 1975. <br />Attorney Kenefick requested the Council to give him some direction MISDEMEANORS <br />in respect to the Misdemeanor Law, Chapter 609, now that Municipal CHAPTER b09 <br />Court would be handling all cases. Councilman Ecklund moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Steele, to authorize Attorney Kenefick to <br />draft a proposed ordinance dealing with misdemeanors. <br />A discussion was held relative to problems within the commercial NUISANCE AND <br />area as to who should enforce the Nuisance and Blight Ordinance. BLIGHT ORDINANCE <br />Councilman Labalestra moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to <br />authorize Clerk-Administrator Barnes to enforce the ordinance as <br />stipulated with ample warning, and if necessary, to issue a summons <br />so that commercial operators comply. Motion carried. <br />Engineer Lemberg submitted Change Order No. 1 for $498.25, Project CHANGE ORDER NO. <br />604429, Falcon Heights Community Park. The change was due to in- <br />stallation of steel posts in lieu of wooden ones for the tennis <br />court lights. Councilman Steele introduced the following Resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION ,#75-6 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER N0. 1 SUBMITTED <br />FOR $498.25 FOR PROJECT 604429 FOR FALCON HEIGHTS <br />COMMUNITY PARK <br />Mayor Warkentien seconded the foregoing Resolution, and upon a vote <br />being taken, the following voted in fauor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Steele, Ecklund, and Labalestra, and the following voted <br />against the same: None.
