g,2. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />July 8, 1976 <br />Page Three <br />The Clerk-Administrator read the Notice of Public Hearing, which <br />was published June 22, 1976, concerning the platting request of <br />Nicholas Pothen, 1877 Hamline Avenue. The legal description of <br />the land is as follows: <br />The North 1/2 of the East 8 acres of the NE 1/!~ of <br />the SW 1/~ of Section 15, T29N, R231rJ except the South <br />6.0 feet thereof and except the West 99 feet thereof. <br />Subject to Roselawn Avenue and Hamline Avenue and water <br />line easement. <br />1 <br /> <br />It was noted that the corner lots, Lots 1 and 8, could require <br />a variance for a sideyard setback because of their width being <br />under 90 feet. <br />PUBLIC <br />HEARING: <br />POTHEN <br />HOt~IESITES, <br />FINAL PLAT <br />Moved by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Steele to approve <br />the final plat as submitted by Nicholas Pothen, 1877 Hamline Avenue, <br />for Pothen Hornesites and authorizing the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator <br />to sign the hardshells and linens. Upon a vote being taken, the <br />following voted "ayes': Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen ~31ack, Ecklund, <br />Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Dr. C. Gustav Hard, City Horticulturist, discussed tree diseases <br />affecting City trees, particularly Dutch Elm Disease. He explained <br />the method used in diagnosing the diseased trees and noted some of <br />the locations of diseased trees in the City. Dr. Hard said there <br />were 1,122 elm trees on the boulevards at the present time, and <br />he expected approximately ~0 of these would have to be cut down yet <br />this year. He said removal of trees yet this year would cost the <br />City approximately ~I~,200, which has not been budgeted. <br />Council had requested at their last meeting that Clement Lehnen, <br />owner of Falcon Lanes, Inc., 1550 West Larpenteur Avenue, submit <br />a copy of rules and regulations governing the control of liquor <br />at his establishment before the Bottle Club license could be <br />considered for renewal. The Council was of the opinion that the <br />rules and regulations submitted this evening were not satisfactory, <br />and requested P~Tr. Lehnen to rewrite them with more detail. <br />Moved by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Steele to table <br />consideration of the renewal of the Bottle Club License for Falcon <br />Lanes, Inc., until the next meeting. Upon a vote being taken, the <br />following voted "aye": Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and <br />Labalestra, and the following voted 'tnay11: Mayor Warkentien.
