Clerk-Administrator <br />Barnes informed Mr. Brown and Mr. Pratt that had more been done it <br />would have cost considerably more. <br />92. <br />Councilman Labalestra mentioned that he has contacted committee mem- <br />bers three times relative to the Northeast area of the Cities traff- <br />ic problems and no one has set up a meeting or tried to contact him <br />to do a survey. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Pratt assured Councilman Labalestra that they still intend to <br />conduct the survey. <br />Moved by Mayor Warkentien, seconded by Clerk-Administrator Barnes HIRING OF NANCY E. <br />to approve the hiring of Nancy E. Niven as Council Secretary, effec- NIVEN AS COUNCIL <br />tive August 9, 1976, at $660.00 per month. Upon a vote being taken, SECRETARY <br />the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Labalestra, seconded by Councilman Black to APPOINTMENT OF <br />approve the appointment of David Paul Bianchi to serve on the Vo1un- DAVID BIANCHI TO <br />tear Fire Department subject to passing a physical and six months VOLUNTEER FIRE <br />probation. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": DEPARTMENT <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Labalestra, and the <br />following voted "nay": None, Motion carried. <br />Engineer Lemberg reported to Council on Hollywood Court street and <br />alley surfaces break-up. He suggested to Council to make a deter- <br />mination as to whether the area should be upgraded and if the pro- <br />ject should be assessed. Council suggested that Engineer Lemberg <br />have a preliminary cost analysis done for the next meeting. <br />Engineer Lemberg reported to Council that the Metro Waste Control <br />Commission was acquiring sewer lines that serve the State Fair <br />grounds and University Farm Campus area. He mentioned it would <br />increase our sewer costs a small amount but the City would get <br />credits back. No further action was taken. <br />Councilman Labalestra reviewed the last quarter Liquor financial <br />report and related the gross margin is down somewhat. <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes reported he had met with the State <br />Highway Department personnel to determine if they could fence in <br />the ponding area at Snelling and Idaho. They are to report back <br />to Mr. Barnes in the near future.
