Minutes <br />Regular Council Meeting ~ <br />September 23, 1976 <br />Pie 3 <br />Luther Stalland, Attorney for Shakey's Pizza appeared before Council WINE LICENSE <br />with his request for a wine license. Attorney Kenefick stated that #1 - SFIAKEY'S <br />the application was all in order. PIZZA <br />Councilman Labalestra moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien to approve <br />the application for Wine License #1 for Shakey's Pizza. Upon a vote <br />being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen <br />Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Charles Soderberg appeared before Council to request that his CONDITIONAL <br />Conditional Use Request be approved, allowing him to erect a radio USE R~UEST - <br />tower in his yard. CHARLES <br />S$DERBSRG - <br />Councilman Black reviewed the previous discussions on this matter RJWIO T()W~ <br />by the Planning Commission and the City Council. Council also dis- <br />cussed the technical constrnetion aspects of the tower and it's <br />esthetic value and the general welfare of the community. <br />Councilman Black moved and it was seconded by Councilman Steele to <br />deny the Conditional Use Request of Mr. Charles Soderberg. Upon a <br />vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Council- <br />men Black and Steele, and the following voted "nay": Councilmen <br />Ecklund and Labalestra. Motion carried. <br />After considerable discussion as to the wording of the above motion <br />it was moved by Mayor Warkentien and second®d bq Councilman Steele to <br />reconsider the original motion. Upon a vote being taken the following <br />voted "aye": for reconsideration" Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Steele, <br />Ecklund and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": Councilffian <br />Black. Motion carried. <br />After more discussion as to the content and meaning of the original <br />motion, Mayor Warkentien moved, and Councilman Labalestra seconded, <br />that Council grant the Conditional Use Request not to exceed 25 feet. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra, and the following voted <br />"nay"s Councilman Slack. Motion carried. <br />Malror Warkenti.ea informed Council that the Ri.g Toy was near com- BIG TOY ERECT- <br />pletion. Mayor Warkentien directed Clerk-Administrator Barnes to ED IN CITY PARK <br />convey the City's thanks to the Flameburger Cafe for their donation <br />of hamburgers and boos for the volunteers who helped put up the Big <br />Toy. <br />Engineer Lemberg informed Council his firm had received a request for STATE AID PRO- <br />payment for Garden Avenu® Water and State Aid Pro3ect on Garden, JECT -PAYMENT <br />Crawford and Arona for serP3.~es performed by McCrossan Company in the TO McCROSSAN <br />amount of $92:,1l~1..l~0 <br />Moved by Councilman Steele, seconded by Mayor Warkentien to approve <br />payment tc> McCrossan Company in the amount of $92,1lt1.lt0 for the above <br />mentioned pro3ect. Upon a rote being taken the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and <br />the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />
