MASTER GAS <br />Clerk Administrator complied with the request. LIC$NSB <br />DEFSRLIED <br />Fire Chief Jerry Renchin appeared before Council to discuss the Uniform <br />Fire Code, more specifically, section 13.307, pertaining to apartment UNIFORM STATE <br />buildings. Chief Renchin discussed woke and heat detectors, al;arrm FIRE CODE - <br />systems and the need for them in City Apartment buildit~e. There was much ~L'ARTMBNT <br />discussion as to the beat types of devices, inatall.ation and cost and Bf3II.DINGS - <br />the responsibility of the Fire Department and apartment owners an con- JE~iRY RENCHIN <br />carne the installation and maintenance of the devise®s. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved and it was seconded by Councilman Steele to in- <br />struct the Fire Chief to immediately enforce the division of Section <br />13.307 already adopted as our State Fire Code and to defer, for further <br />discussion and study, the Fire Chief's request to adopt an ordinance to <br />include apartlaents with fewer than 15 units to comply. Upon a vote be- <br />ing taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following voted "nay": None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Saint Paul City Councilman Leonard Levine appeared before Council as LEONARD LEDIlUti <br />Metropolitian Transit Commission representative for this. district. He MTC <br />discussed various transit systems such as fixed guideways, PRT (Personal <br />Rapid Transit), light rail and downtown shuttle. <br />Councilman Levine told Council that if any Falcon Heights residents need <br />service, to advise 'the residents to bring their request directly to his <br />attention at St. Paul City Hall or through:; the Falcon Heights Council. <br />Harlan McGregor of American Oil Company, representing Garnet Gallimore, CONDITIONAL <br />owner of Garnet's Standard Station located at Larpenteur and Snelling USF AND VAR- <br />Avenue, appeared before Council to request approval of application for L1NCT REQUEST <br />a ®ariance and Condit3.onal Use to erect canopies at the gas station. GARNET'S <br />Mr. McGregor stated lac has been in contact with County and State off- STANDARD <br />icials and the officials have no objection to the canopies. STATION <br />
