Minutes ; ~ <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />December 9, 1976 <br />page 2 <br />Moved by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Labalestra to instruct RESIGNATION <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes to draft a letter accepting the resignation OF PLANNING <br />of Planning Commission Chairman George Plant and to have a plaque made, COMMISSION <br />honoring Mr. Plant's long and capable service. Upon a vote being the CHAIRMAN <br />following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilman Black, Ecklund, GEO. PLANT <br />Steele and Labalestra and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mr. James Jernberg, 15110 Iowa, appeared before Council to present a claim SANITARY <br />for $l~05.00 against the City for damages caused by sanitary sewer back-up SEWER BACK-UP <br />in his basement. JAS.:JERNBERG <br />Vincent Wright of the City Maintenance Department stated that apparently WS~SOIRENSON <br />an Iowa,~venue resident had their sewer line cleaned and roots from that 1537 IOWA <br />line became lodged in the lateral, causing the back-up. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Steele to instruct Clerk- <br />Administrator 3arnes to submit Mr. Jernberg's claim to the City Insurance <br />Agent and also inform the insurance company of the possibility of an add- <br />itional claim from Wayne Sorenson, 1537 Iowa, who also had back-up with <br />resulting rug damage. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br /> Engineer Lemberg noted he and Mr. Barnes are attempting to set up a meet- MTG. REGARD- <br /> ingbetween Falcon Heights, Roseville, Lauderdale and Ramsey County Engin- ING ROSELAWN <br /> ears regarding Roselawn Avenue. <br /> In regard to Tatum Street, Councilman Ecklund recommended the City compile TATUM STREET <br /> a fact sheet to inform residents of the following: Who pays; what are IMPROVEMENT <br /> curbs and gutters; what the width could be; how much is to be surfaced; FACT SHEET <br /> etc. If the fact sheet was presented with a petition to Tatum Street <br /> residents the City would then have an accurate picture of what the res- <br /> idents desired. Council concurred with this idea and instructed Engineer <br /> Lemberg and Clerk-Administrator Barnes to prepare the fact sheet. <br /> Mr. Joseph Bianchi, 1725 Fairview, appeared before Council to request he SNOW FENCE <br /> be allowed to keep his snow fence up, which he has erected along his JOS. BIANCHI <br /> driveway. He stated his property is directly across from open fields 1725 FAIRVIEW <br /> and he experiences a great deal of blowing and drifting snow. <br />Attorney Skor recommended checking further for a distinct interpretation <br />of the term "fence" as it applies to Ordinance 6l~, to see if it means <br />temporary fences. <br />Lowell Hargens and the GTA Engineer appeared before Council to inform BLDG. PERMIT <br />them of the plans to expand their facilities over the garage area. FOR GTA GAR- <br />They gave Council plans and specifications of the proposed addition to AGE ADDITION <br />review. The proposed addition will be the same height as the existing <br />portion and will extend back three pilings, or 66 feet. <br />Councilman Black moved and it was seconded by Councilman Steele to <br />refer Farmers Union GTA to Building Inspector Squires for application <br />of a building permit. Upon a vote being taken the following voted <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and <br />Labalestra and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />
