MINUTES <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY l3, 1977 <br />page 3 <br /> <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes suggested to Council that commercial sewer <br />rates be increased to compare favorably with rates, based on water <br />service sizes,charged by the Metro Waste Control Commission. C1erk- <br />Administrator Barnes recommended that the minimum charge for 14' or <br />less be raised from $10.00 to $15.00, 1~' - 2" be raised from $15.00 <br />to $20.00, 3" or more be raised from $30.00 to $l~0.00 and a flat <br />rate of 30¢ per 1,000 gallons thereafter. <br />Moved by Councilman Labalestra and seconded by Councilman Steele to <br />adopt Ordinance #155 as follows, with the above increases. <br />ORDINANCE 155 <br />3 <br />ORDINANCE 155 <br />SEWER INCREASES <br />IN RATES FOR <br />COMMERCIAL USERS <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. l~6, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REG- <br />ULATING THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REQUIR- <br />ING CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE TO THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM <br />ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS AS TO TYPES AND KINDS OF WASTES THAT MAY BE <br />DISPOSED OF BY THE USE OF THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM PRO- <br />HIBITING THE DISCHARGE OF ANY TYPE OR KIND OF SURFACE WATERS INTO <br />THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM AND PRESCRIBING RATES AND CHARGES <br />FOR DISPOSAL SERVICES," AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCES #i~8, 58, 63, 82, <br />AND 110. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": rSayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Steele moved adoption of Resolution 77-1, Designating North RESOLUTION 77-1 <br />Star State Ba k as the Official Depository for General and Sinking Funds OF'F'ICIAL DE- <br />for 1977. The motion was seconded by Councilman Labalestra and upon a POSITORY <br />vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen GEN. & SINKING <br />Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following voted "nay": FUNDS <br />None. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Ecklund moved adoption of Resolution 7?-2, Designating Rose- RESOLUTION 77-2 <br />vi11e State Bank as the Official Depository for Liquor Store Funds for OFFICIAL DEPOSIT- <br />1977• The motion was seconded by Councilman Black and upon a vote be- ORY FOR LIQUOR <br />ing taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen FUNDS <br />Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following voted ''nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Labalestra moved adoption of Resolution 77-3, Authorizing RESOLUTION 77-3 <br />a Safety Deposit Box at North Star State Bank. The motion was second- SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX <br />ed by Councilman Steele and upon a vote being taken the following voted <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and <br />Labalestra and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Steele moved and it was seconded by Councilman Labalestra OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER <br />to designate the St. Paul Dispatch as the City's Official Newspaper FOR 1977 <br />for 1977. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />
