1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />MIIVTUTES <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL i",~ETING <br />FEBRUARY 28, 1977 <br />page 2 <br />Residents of Hollywood Court appeared before Council to state their feel- <br />ings in regard to the proposed improvement as follows: <br />i~Is. Jean Pinkerton, 1617 Hollywood Court - She stated she would like the <br />project to go ahead as proposed with the concrete curbs and gutters. <br />William Schultz, 1630 Hollywood Court - He stated he has an open mind about <br />the proposed project. He does not think the alleys will go 16 feet. He <br />would like to reserve judgment until a later date. <br />Harvey Frye, 1603 Hollywood Court - He stated the expense was too great. <br />He would like to see alternate, less expensive proposals. Agreed the street <br />does need improvement but that all residents are experiencing the strain of <br />the high cost of energy. <br />Marion Hood, 1597 Hollywood Court - She stated the proposed project is too <br />expensive and she is against the improvement. <br />Irene Dengler, 1611 Hollywood Court - She stated she doesn't see the need <br />for curbs and gutters and is open to alternate plans. <br />David King, 1607 Hollywood Court - He said the project is too expensive and <br />he is against it as proposed. <br />Gary O'Hara, 1582 Hollywood Court - He said the project is too expensive <br />and is against the proposed improvement. <br />Mrs. Peterson, 1624 Hollywood Court - She had numerous questions regarding <br />the project such as the life expectancy of concrete curbs and gutters, <br />alternate plans, frequency of sealcoating, etc., all of which Engineer <br />Lemberg answered. She stated the alleys do definitely need work. <br />Engineer Lemberg stated he would prepare a data sheet showing estimated <br />costs of alternate plans. <br />_ ,' <br />;-~.~ <br />HOLLYfn;"OOD CT. <br />(CONT.) <br />Councilman 31ack moved and it was seconded by Councilman Ecklund to hold PUBLIC HEARING <br />a public hearing on the proposed improvement on Thursday, T~iarch 21~, 1977, HOLLYWOOD CT. <br />at 8:00 p.m. at City Ha11. Upon a vote being taken the following voted 3/2/77 <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra <br />and the following voted "nay": Ncne. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Labalestra reported that he had obtained a doctor's report on DOCTOR'S RE- <br />the condition of George ti^Tillkom, Liquor Store Zianager which stated that PORT ON GEO. <br />Mr. Willkom should work no more than 30 hours per week. He suggested WILLKO~ <br />the City could work out something with T~Zr. LJillkom whereby he would be <br />able to work a minimum number of hours, with a reduction in salary and <br />still be eligible for retirement benefits. <br />Since Attorney Kenefick was not in attendance, his scheduled discussion <br />on an opinion granting requests for variances was held over until the <br />next meeting. <br />Council discussed a letter from Senator Robert NI.
