MINUTES <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 23, 1977 __/ 62 <br />Page 6 ~'F' <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra SECRETARIAL <br />that Janice A.Cheney be hired as secretary at the agreed POSITION <br />salary of $625.00 a month. Upon a vote being taken the <br />following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen <br />Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": <br />None. Absent: Black. Motion carried. <br />Variance request to place a five foot cyclone fence VARIANCE <br />in the front yard of the Falcon Heights Elementary REQUEST <br />School, 1393 W. Garden Avenue, Dist. 623 was presented. SCHOOL DIST <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien 623 <br />to approve the variance request to place a five foot <br />cyclone fence in the front yard of the Falcon Heights <br />Elementary School, from the easterly side of the building <br />and extended to the westerly lot line of the Melvin <br />Pothen property at 1807 North Hamline to retain the <br />school children in the yard. Louis Gilbert attended the <br />meeting representing Sch. Dist. 623 and was thanked for <br />his .attendance and concern. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes submitted the Garden Avenue TRAFFIC COUNT <br />traffic count for discussion. It was determined an GARDEN AVE. <br />error had been made in the computation and Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes was to contact the State Highway <br />Department to determine computation proceedures <br />and re-submit the report. <br />Councilman Labalestra requested that Ordinance 156 ORDINANCE 156 <br />have a few revisions made to it to clarify the intent FEE SCHEDULES <br />of the ordinance. After a short discussion, Council <br />referred it to City Attorney Kenefick to incorporate <br />in the codification of the ordinances. <br />Sheriff's report of May 1977 was read and noted. SHERIFF'S <br />REPORT <br />The May 1977 Liquor Receipt and Expense Report was LIQUOR <br />noted. Councilman Labalestra is going to check on EXPENSE AND <br />inventory control accounting system. Councilman RECEIPT <br />Labalestra noted that it is still operating in the REPORT <br />black, but should have a physical inventory every <br />month. <br />Attorney Kenefick advised Council all State Legislative LEGISLATION <br />bills were in. He will read and review public laws SESSION <br />and etc. He will then reproduce those that effect ENDED <br />Local Government and furnish the Council with copies. <br /> <br />
