<br /> <br />I' <br />~J <br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL CITY <br />JULY 7, 1977 <br />Page 5 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />~s7 <br />Fire Chief Jerry Renchin noted to Council that a new member was <br />accepted by the Fire Department on July 5, 1977, pending physical <br />and Council approval. Name: William F. Terrault, Age: 39, is <br />employed by Bell Telephone and resides at 1718 N. Fry. Mayor <br />Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Black to accept application, <br />subject to supplying physical report and 6 months probation. Upon <br />a vote Being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. The following <br />voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />FIRE DEPT. <br />REPORT - NEW <br />MEMBER <br />Fire Chief Jerry Renchin noted to Council the Falcon Heights Fire FIRE DEPT. <br />Department in conjunction with Roseville and the Sheriff's Dept. HAR-MAR DISPLAY <br />were having a four day display at Har-Mar on Hypertension starting <br />on July 6th. They have had a good response and also noted it is <br />doing a good job of public relations for the City. Mayor Warkentien <br />made note of and thanked Fire Chief Renchin for his report. <br />Councilman Black moved and was seconded by Councilman Steele, the <br />variance request for a garage at 1422 W. Larpenteur be referred <br />to the Planning Commission for their July 11th meeting and that the <br />applicant, Charles Skweres be requested to get written approval of <br />the two adjoining neighbors. Request will be put on the July 18th <br />Council agenda. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. <br />The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Deferred to the July 28th meeting <br />The motion f r the adoption ~ tl~e.foregoing resolution was duly <br />introducecj(~i~d sec~n°~d~y rC uncilman Ecklund, and upon a vote <br />being taken theron, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. <br />The following voted against same: None. Motion carried. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes noted to Council the report on re- <br />planting of boulevard trees. The State Department shall pay <br />50% of the cost of the sanitation program, not to exceed $40 <br />per tree. The number of trees that can be planted under this <br />program can not exceed the number of trees removed in 1976. <br />Councilman Steele moved seconded by Councilman Ecklund to re- <br />imburse the private citizen for the purchase and planting <br />cost on public property, but not to exceed the cost of trees <br />the City acquires and delay planting till spring. Upon a vote <br />being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. The following <br />voted "nay": None.
