I' ~J MINUTES SPECIAL CITY JULY 7, 1977 Page 5 COUNCIL MEETING ~s7 Fire Chief Jerry Renchin noted to Council that a new member was accepted by the Fire Department on July 5, 1977, pending physical and Council approval. Name: William F. Terrault, Age: 39, is employed by Bell Telephone and resides at 1718 N. Fry. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Black to accept application, subject to supplying physical report and 6 months probation. Upon a vote Being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. FIRE DEPT. REPORT - NEW MEMBER Fire Chief Jerry Renchin noted to Council the Falcon Heights Fire FIRE DEPT. Department in conjunction with Roseville and the Sheriff's Dept. HAR-MAR DISPLAY were having a four day display at Har-Mar on Hypertension starting on July 6th. They have had a good response and also noted it is doing a good job of public relations for the City. Mayor Warkentien made note of and thanked Fire Chief Renchin for his report. Councilman Black moved and was seconded by Councilman Steele, the variance request for a garage at 1422 W. Larpenteur be referred to the Planning Commission for their July 11th meeting and that the applicant, Charles Skweres be requested to get written approval of the two adjoining neighbors. Request will be put on the July 18th Council agenda. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. The following voted against same: None. Motion carried. Clerk Administrator Barnes noted to Council the report on re- planting of boulevard trees. The State Department shall pay 50% of the cost of the sanitation program, not to exceed $40 per tree. The number of trees that can be planted under this program can not exceed the number of trees removed in 1976. Councilman Steele moved seconded by Councilman Ecklund to re- imburse the private citizen for the purchase and planting cost on public property, but not to exceed the cost of trees the City acquires and delay planting till spring. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. VARIANCE REQUEST 1422 W.
