1 MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 25, 1977 Page 4 Fire Chief Renchin appeared before Council regarding radio communications with Ramsey County Hospital Emergency Room toning equipment. Monies received from rescue calls will be set aside into an escrow account for better radio equipment. The request is to be considered at the budget meeting. Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": Councilman Black. Motion carried. 83 RADIO COMMUNICATION RAMSEY COUNTY HOSPITAL Councilman Steele reported on the Diseased Tree program TREE COMMITTEE and the concern of the tree committee as the length of REPORT time it takes to remove diseased trees. Clerk Adminis- trator Barnes was directed to inquire of the Northland Tree Service whether they could not expedite the pro- cedure of removal. Councilman Steele also requested that notices of the tree committee meetings be posted in all official posting places in the City and attempt to publish the notices likewise. Councilman Steele informed council that Dr. French will submit a report on the procedures of treating Elm trees with Arbotech. Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, requesting Clerk Administrator Barnes to write a letter to N.L. Herme's attorney, Mr. Samual Koitz, advising him of the council's decision to deny sewer charge cancellation. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Councilman Labalestra reviewed with council the July profit ~ loss statement of the Liquor Store submitted by Yellen ~ Assoc. HERMES SEWER CHARGES MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORE PROFIT ~ LOSS REPORT Clerk Administrator Barnes reported to council the Cohen COHEN PROPERTY property appraisal cost from Almquist & Assoc. Their estimate for appraisal would run $1,200 to $1,500 for the report. It was requested by council not to pursue the matter in respect to Mr. Cohen's request for re- duction in valuation for the years 1976 ~ 1977. Clerk Administrator Barnes talked to Charles Burrill, SNELLING AVE. District #9 of the State Highway Dept. about the Snelling SERVICE DRIVE Avenue Service Drive. It is still on his agenda and hopes to get at it by next year.
