<br />1 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 25, 1977 <br />Page 4 <br />Fire Chief Renchin appeared before Council regarding <br />radio communications with Ramsey County Hospital <br />Emergency Room toning equipment. Monies received from <br />rescue calls will be set aside into an escrow account <br />for better radio equipment. The request is to be <br />considered at the budget meeting. Councilman Steele <br />moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien. Upon a vote <br />being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following <br />voted "nay": Councilman Black. Motion carried. <br />83 <br />RADIO <br />COMMUNICATION <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />HOSPITAL <br />Councilman Steele reported on the Diseased Tree program TREE COMMITTEE <br />and the concern of the tree committee as the length of REPORT <br />time it takes to remove diseased trees. Clerk Adminis- <br />trator Barnes was directed to inquire of the Northland <br />Tree Service whether they could not expedite the pro- <br />cedure of removal. <br />Councilman Steele also requested that notices of the tree <br />committee meetings be posted in all official posting <br />places in the City and attempt to publish the notices <br />likewise. Councilman Steele informed council that <br />Dr. French will submit a report on the procedures of <br />treating Elm trees with Arbotech. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />requesting Clerk Administrator Barnes to write a letter <br />to N.L. Herme's attorney, Mr. Samual Koitz, advising <br />him of the council's decision to deny sewer charge <br />cancellation. Upon a vote being taken, the following <br />voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Steele <br />and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman Labalestra reviewed with council the July <br />profit ~ loss statement of the Liquor Store submitted <br />by Yellen ~ Assoc. <br />HERMES SEWER <br />CHARGES <br />MUNICIPAL <br />LIQUOR STORE <br />PROFIT ~ LOSS <br />REPORT <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported to council the Cohen COHEN PROPERTY <br />property appraisal cost from Almquist & Assoc. Their <br />estimate for appraisal would run $1,200 to $1,500 for <br />the report. It was requested by council not to pursue <br />the matter in respect to Mr. Cohen's request for re- <br />duction in valuation for the years 1976 ~ 1977. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes talked to Charles Burrill, SNELLING AVE. <br />District #9 of the State Highway Dept. about the Snelling SERVICE DRIVE <br />Avenue Service Drive. It is still on his agenda and hopes <br />to get at it by next year. <br />
