MEETING OF APRIL 22, 1971 <br />3057 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members <br />present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Stone. Also present <br />were Clerk Printon, Engineer Anderlik and Attorney .Seed. Councilman Taylor ar- <br />rived at 9:00 P.M. <br />Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the April 8, 1971 meeting <br />be approved. Black seconded and the motion carried. <br />Correspondence: Various letters of correspondence were read and ordered <br />fii.ed. <br />Rarisey County Ecklund introduced the follow~.ng resolution and moved its <br />Plat Commission adoption: A RESOLUTION RELATING TO ABOLISHMENT OF RAMSEY <br />Resolution No. 71-3: COUNTY PLAT CON.MISSIOPI. <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Falcon <br />Heights has reviewed the Ramsey County League of Munici- <br />palities Legislative Committee Resolution No. 1~ concerning <br />abolishment of the Ramsey County Plat Commission, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Falcon <br />Heights does concur with the position stated in said <br />resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council <br />of the Village of Falcon Heights that the Legislature of <br />the State of Minnesota should: <br />(1} Pass a bill repealing S. L. Ch. 108 of the Laws <br />of 1887, the antiquated and insufficient enabling authority <br />for the Ramsey County Plat Commission; and, <br />(2) That such bill should specifically provide for <br />the abolition of the Ramsey County Plat Commission. <br />The foregoing resolution, offered by Councilman <br />Ecklund and supported by Councilman Black, was declared <br />carried on the following vote: Ayes: All. Nays: None. <br />Donald Shannon - Mr. Donald Shannon appeared at the meeting to discuss the <br />Re: Pori-Mutuel Village opposing the Pari-Mutuel Bill. Mr. Shannon would <br />Betting Resolution: like the Village to pass a resolution opposing the bill <br />and have the Village send copies of this resolution to the <br />House and Senate. <br />Street Sweeping: Taylor moved that the Village Engineer be authorized to <br />arrange for street sweeping. Stone seconded and the motion <br />carried. <br />Fire Report: Ecklund read Fire Report No. 10. <br />
